Why Didn't Rush Make a Bond Song????

Bond themes are supposed to be dark and sexy, or at least sexy; even McCartney had to fight to sing his own song (the producers wanted a female singer). I don't think most people think sexy when they hear Rush (safe to say). That said, "A View to a Kill" is an abomination, and yet the collective idiots of the E! (or wherever) voting public named it the best Bond theme ever, so anything is possible. In my mind though, if you know you won't be able to hang with Goldfinger, Live and Let Die, or The Spy Who Loved Me, you shouldn't try. "Skyfall" was a really good contemporary take on the Bond theme song I think. Can't see Geddy doing that. Love him but he's no Tom Jones (Thunderball).

Ok I have a true story for all of you BOND Fanatics!

So back in like 1971 my mom and dad took me up to South Lake Tahoe for the weekend. I was 3 years old.

I only know of this story because my parents told me this.

So we were staying at the High Sierra which is now the Hard Rock Hotel.

Anyway I was in the pool with my parents. My mom and dad were trying to teach me the word yes.

All I could say was no.

Well all of a sudden a nice woman came over to me in the pool and she asked my mom and dad if I could swim with her and she would teach me to say the word yes.

So they let her take me away.

Well guess who I swam with? Guess who taught me to say the word "yes?"

It was Shirley Bassey!

I saw in a pool with a Legend! "Goldfinger" is EPIC! Don't forget she also sang "Moonraker."

So let's see. If Rush could ever do a Bond film song I think that it's already been made.

"DOUBLE AGENT"

LOL

I think Rush could contribute an excellent instrumental or two for a movie, like Mission Impossible that U2 amongst others did, but Bond, with vocals? Nope, not going to happen ever.
