NBA Playoffs 2014

This has been a great playoff year for the NBA. And the finals...go Spurs! It's refreshing to see some actual team basketball. Averaging six passes per possession and fewer than 3.7 tattoos per limb, the Spurs are as likeable a team as the NBA can field.

And another blowout for the Spurs, who defeat the Heat for their 5th NBA championship in the Duncan era...

Congratz to the Spurs!

Yes, and the best coach in the game, Hoosier native Gregg Popovich...who apparently took lessons on dealing with the media from Bob Knight... :)

It's over????? Finally a respite from basketball for a few months? I can turn on the TV without finding that the program I'd wanted to watch got preempted by a stupid basketball game?

(I know hockey and baseball last forever as well, but I LIKE those sports! Also from Nov-April there's both the NBA and NCAA overlapping, so it's very hard to escape basketball).

We feel the same way about horse racing always pre-empting our programming.

Like that EVER happens.

Trust me, I've given up ever being able to watch any coverage of the big races at Saratoga in the fall - ESPN deems Little League baseball FAR more important. They put the races on the programming schedule but they're inevitably pre-empted by the kids going into extra innings or what have you. It's the only time I hate baseball, and I really wish ESPN would drop the contracts for racing coverage and let one of the 2 racing channels, HRTV or TVG, take it over.

The horses get no love! Here in NV we can go to the casinos and watch the horses all day if we want.

Being closet Spurs fan (when they're not playing my Mav's) I'm smiling with my hand over my mouth. A real team will beat a collection of talent every time. They'll be back.

So quiet and classy in going about their business - no scandals, no trash-talking -, San Antonio's 15 year dynasty went mostly unnoticed. I always root for them (unless they're playing the Lakers).
