1-0-0-1-0-0-1
Back in the late 80s and throughout the 90s I was in a series of bands in Austin. We mostly did original tunes, but everyone once in a while we'd have fun butchering Rush songs. Here's an example of that. Nice job and nice Carvin. Agreed. Plus, JARG looks like a rock star! I should'a had a fluffy shirt, ala Seinfeld. http://ewpopwatch.files.wordpress.com/2005/11/152723__puffy_l.jpg Yeah but then you'd look like Yngwie. You don't want that. Yes, that would be bad, considering the guy can play circles around me. He can play circles around most anybody, but he looks like a pirate! SimonPieman
Hi everyone. I wanted to share with you my cover of the fantastic song, The Garden, the last track on the Clockwork Angels album. I was using this as a project to teach myself how to use my new home studio setup. I got rather carried away I think! Other than guitars and vocals, the rest of the music was produced using the Reason 7 factory sound banks and a midi keyboard (that's drums, orchestration, bass, drums, piano and effects). I used my old knackered Squire Strat and..well my voice. Love to know what you think. Please feel free to share. https://soundcloud.c...h-cover-version Thanks all..oh and thanks to Rush! I know nitpicky but that's a Rush fan for you. :P

KennyLee
Here's my band doing Natural Science coming out of ByTor. Not my best vocals but they can't all be gems! My first night with two keyboards and the PK-5's. "Too many things on my mind". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4cmv5yRkhk

So close. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVhMDrMvG5o Tell your guitarist he get's a "thumbs up" from me for playing the first solo so close to the original. Most players (me included) tend to treat that solo as an opportunity to do a little improvising, but your guy really seems to have stayed very close to the original. (We won't talk too much about the 2nd solo. ;) )

The video cut out too soon for me to say...the solo was off to a bad start, but he seems like a good enough player that he may have reeled it in. PW_Guitarist
You guys sound very tight and authentic - the tone, the feel, it's all there. La Villa is always a challenge. Here's ours from 2 weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAs0W-KHhOM&feature=share&list=UUU-s7t_f37y-onx7iCrWR1g
WavesandWindows
My Rush covers? Looking at my previous setlists (for gigs I do for my family and some close family friends) Closer to the Heart and Bravado are definitely up there, and starting Saturday night, Larger Bowl will be among the ranks. Also, I did Working Man acoustically not too long ago!

KennyLee
Wow. Very nice! Great camera work, too. Loved the cuts back to when he was younger. Also loved the smiles after the 13:00 mark. Sir Lerxst
This is my cover of The Anarchist, sans vocals. It is all played & programmed by from scratch. I referenced a (brilliant) midi file by GianFranco Fiocco for the strings to give me some idea how to implement them.
