This is the kind of ass whipping you can't recover from. The O Line for the Packers was horrid. I think they're done for, whether or not Rodgers returns.

With so many O and D-linemen either out with injuries or playing with injuries, it becomes too much to bear. Losing your star QB as well as all the other guys is just too much.

They'll get OT Bulaga back next year, and I'm sure they'll be drafting some new linemen. Next year will be better.... :haz:

From first and goal inside the Bear 10 after making mince meat on the first drive of the game to a devastating injury to 5-6-1 and a thrashing by the Lions. That fall was fast and hard.

But with competent management, the Pack won't be down for long.

Ted Thompson and his staff will stick to their philosophy of drafting and developing. They aren't blind to the huge toll that all the injuries have taken on the team. They will not panic. They'll simply reload for next year. If they do make a big move in the draft or free agency, it will be to acquire a stud safety. They miss Nick Collins a LOT......

It must be SO nice to root for a team that is competently managed. For the Dolphins, the front office has been subpar since the halcyon days of Joe Thomas and the undefeated team. Even in the 80s with some strong teams, Shula (and later, Marino, who they lucked into) covered up a lot of drafting and player procurement incompetence.

What kind of players do you think the Pack needs to draft in 2014?

This is the third game in a row that Simms and Nantz have had to do that didn't involve their Patriots. And Sunday they'll probably be assigned to the Chiefs vs Broncos. Do you think they're on suicide watch yet?

I've got Dal -9.5 so of course it will hold up.

That last view tells me though it should probably be overturned.

It's too easy to predict how the last few games will go for the Lions.

at Philly: Coming off a "dominating" defensive performance against a Packers team down to its fifth-string players, the Lions promptly give up 750 passing yards and lose 40-20.

vs. NYG: The Lions outgain the Giants 400-29 in the first half but commit 7 turnovers and cling to a 13-12 lead at the break. The G-men make a few minor adjustments at halftime that completely baffle Stafford in the second half. He goes 2-for-16 and the Lions lose.

vs. Balt: Up by 6 with fifteen seconds left, Schwartz calls for a fake punt on a 4th and 10 from his own 1. The attempt fails and the Ravens score a TD on the final play. Lions lose.

at MN: The Lions' suddenly "vaunted" rush defense picks the worst possible time to crack, allowing the Vikes to run all over them. A last-minute comeback attempt falls short as Reggie Bush drops the ball as he's about to cross the goalline for the go-ahead score. Lions lose.

There you go. Division is right there for the taking, Packers and Bears fans.

I like the lack of an intentional safety in the Raven game. Maybe they should sign Orlovsky for just this situation!

It's true the Lions could lose every one of those games despite it being an easy finish to their schedule.

Ha! I actually thought of having Stafford unwittingly run out of the back of the end zone for one of these meltdowns.

How about Stafford throwing an underhand pass that bounces off the back of an offensive lineman and with the trajectory being up, bouncing in the air to himself where he catches it and is tackled for a safety...

The Bears have no identity now they have a finesse offensive head coach and a crappy defense. And of course they still have Cutler...

They have at Min, vs Dal, at Cle, at Phi, and GB at home. And they lose the tiebreaker to the Lions by virtue of a Lions sweep.

I still think the Packers can win that division if they can put November behind them and get their shit together once Rodgers comes back. And even playing like today with Flynn they can beat the Falcons surely?

I could see the Lions losing when they have the ball at the opponents 1 with 2 minutes left down by 2 and the opponent out of timeouts, with the Lions running down the clock to 5 seconds and Akers missing a 19 yarder.

Or if they had John Carney, scoring on a kick return with no time left and 20 laterals to cut a lead to 1 followed by a missed XP...

Sure, they can beat the Jets, err...Falcons. But they have to beat Dallas and Pittsburgh prior to the last game with Chicago. They COULD get to 8-7-1, though I doubt it, but is that good enough...the Lions schedule looks pretty weak and they only need 2 of the 4.

If he did catch it, and attempted to throw it again while still in the end zone, would that be a safety because the penalty occurred in the end zone? Cause I could totally see him doing that.
