Open Secrets IMHO opinion has one of Alex's best recorded studio solos on it. The soaring tremolo work is inidictive of his approach to soloing in this timeline. I also loved Geddys Wal bass secondly to his Rick.

Im not a fan of what I hear from the Jazz bass live these days, it sounds like a bunch of metal pipes being assaulted with a sledgehammer. (Again IMHO!)

"Time Stand Still"

That song got me interested in hearing more 2.gif, for a start.

My best friend doesn't even like Rush that much, but she LOVES that song. She's one of the people I think of whenever I listen to it. I don't get to see her, or her husband, or their two neighbors nearly as often as I'd like, and I consider them my closest friends. So it's kinda bittersweet...plus the lyrics are all about the passage of time and how you can't fight it. It's a song that stirs so many strong emotions for me.

That said..."Prime Mover" is pretty awesome, especially the bassline!

That's like asking what's the best turd in the pile of crap. Roll the Bones was a good comeback after Hold your Fire and Presto and I'll leave it at that. That's how I'm feeling today, anyway.

I think I'd rather possibly wear Sally Jesse Raphael's panties like a ski mask than listen to Hold your Fire today. It's been years since I've pulled out that crimson-colored disaster of a recording.

Tough question. The only song I consistently skip on the album is Second Nature. For some reason I find the lyrics cheesy.

I picked Prime Mover. Tomorrow it could well have been The Mission, or Force Ten, or Time Stand Still. . .
