If you are a fan of the Blue Jackets, you should love Martin Ouellette, currently with the Maine Black Bears. Saturday night he played out of this world against BC. He gave up one goal with about 8 seconds left in the game. Even I was sad to see BC score at that point.

If you are a fan of the Blue Jackets

*crickets*

He played great Saturday though. Like I said, I was bummed for him. He deserved the shut out.

Yeah, those last-minute shutout-breaking goals are kind of brutal to watch. The Canucks have been notorious for them the last couple of seasons. Of course, it's probably worse when it's a college kid instead of a seasoned pro.

We had good seats, so we could actually see he was beside himself right after the goal. BC played with more urgency in the last 2 minutes than they did at any other point in the game.

Is former Merrimack goalie Cannata still in your system? We've seen him have some great games at Conte too.

Yep, Cannata's playing with the AHL affiliate in Chicago and doing well. I'm sure he'll get a cup of coffee at the NHL level in a season or two, but right now he has top prospect Eddie Lack in front of him on the depth chart along with Luongo and Schneider. The Canucks can afford to be patient with their goaltending prospects for now.
