Dream-Theater*#2358
1. Half the World (yes, im serious) 2. Totem 3. The Color of Right 4. Driven 5. Time and Motion 6. Virtuality 7. Test For Echo 8. Resist 9. Limbo 10. Dog Years 11. Carve Away the Stone The songs are all good in my opinion. Some are really good. But there are no excellent or really great songs on this album like on previous albums.
goose
QUOTE (priest_of_syrinx @ Jul 6 2012, 08:45 PM) Totem - I love the lyrics, I love how joyful the song sounds, "Joyful" is a great way to describe this one!

They Bow Defeated
The word that best describes TFE (album) for me is: mediocre. It's the only time where I ever felt like Rush was kind of phoning it in. I would rather see them try something different and not be entirely successful (VT) than play it safe like they did on TFE. Resist ( A ) The Color of Right ( B+ ) Time and Motion ( B+ ) Driven ( B+ ) Half the World ( B ) Carve Away the Stone ( C ) Virtuality ( D ) Totem ( D ) Limbo ( D ) Test for Echo ( D ) Dog Years ( F ) Edited July 9, 2012 by They Bow Defeated
theredtamasrule
QUOTE (They Bow Defeated @ Jul 9 2012, 06:24 PM) The word that best describes TFE (album) for me is: mediocre. It's the only time where I ever felt like Rush was kind of phoning it in. I have this sentiment with Presto, RTB & T4E. I still get the feeling that, outside of a small handful of songs they just didn't have much that HAD to say or express as artists. Kinda like they made those albums just because it was time to. Silas Lang
1. Time And Motion 2. Driven 3. Totem 4. Carve Away The Stone 5. Test For Echo 6. Dog Years 7. The Color of Right 8. Virtuality 9. Resist 10. Limbo 11. Half The World Very good album - I can dig every song on it a lot. I prefer it over Presto, RTB, S&A or Signals and think it's as good as and musically more adventurous than Counterparts, in places even hinting at a more progressive rock feel. If not for the tragic events in Peart's life I could imagine them reaching the point they're at now with Clockwork Angels a lot sooner. I think you can hear the seeds of them heading in that direction but the momentum was derailed.
