Tick
This will be the last studio album. It just is. Neil will not do this much longer.

Neil himself said that. Sorry. That he did. I think in his mind he doesn't wanna do Rush anymore if he feels he's not physically able to do the music justice. It's an admirable view but unfortunately it may mean this is it.

treeduck
QUOTE (Karena @ Jun 18 2012, 10:07 AM) QUOTE (Ghostnotes @ Jun 18 2012, 12:10 AM)You got to figure that they have family and friends who have stood by them for MOST of their lives, to some extent waiting for them to retire by now I'm sure. If this happened to be their last, then i say it's a terrific ending and put quite simply... Thank You. Now, why on earth would people who love you want you to stop doing something that means a lot to you? That is just mean and it's not like they are pumping out albums and touring constantly so they have plenty of time off. Cliche, but they say the biggest killer of older people is retirement. The Garden is depressing as is all of CA. It's good but still negative as was S&A. Negative or positive, it's all good in music!

Jeffrey
I have never been has emotionally touched on my initial listens to any song as I have been with "The Garden". It is the perfect ending for a great album. It is a brilliantly crafted masterpiece that will be continued to be considered a Rush classic many decades from now. ScottT67
Soaked a nice bowl of Indica with Honey Oil, sat back and got severe goosebumps with prolonged spine tingle that kicked into overdrive when Lerxt lit up that Wailing Solo!!! God Damn! What power!!! STILL!!!
troutman
QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Jun 15 2012, 11:43 AM)I absolutely love the new album. In fact I can't stop listening to it. When I heard The Garden it just had a profound impact on me I actually found my eyes tearing up which hasn't happened since I first heard Secret Touch off vapor trails. The guitar, the vocals the words it's all so perfect. Well done boys. I hope they play it live this tour. Yeah, I love this tune as well. I thought a few tears were flowing my self. Presto-digitation
One fellow on another Rush board remarked that years from now The Garden may well be viewed as the worst song Rush has ever done.
