See, I think these two images are both fantastic.

 

The HF artwork is beautiful - but obviously specific to that song.

 

The actual cover is less dramatic, but still quite cool and atmospheric.

 

Either way - kudos again to Hugh Syme. Based on what we've seen, he has out-done himself.

My guess is that the mentality revolves around the idea that when you see something you want, but can't have it you just want it even more. That would have worked in the 90s, but not anymore because we can in fact get it.   Either way, I'm going to buy it afterwards.

I like the red clouds but I definitely wouldn't mind if they changed the cover to the blue ocean. That blue image is something else. It could be a pick for Earthshine or Between Sun And Moon.
