danielmclark
The book is awesome, the trailer is awesome, I'm looking forward to this one! What, just because it doesn't fit the typical Hollywood movie formula it earns a WTF?

go2wrk@95974
As a distant relative to Pres. Lincoln ( my 8th G-grandmother Mary Harrison, was the 2nd cousin of Honest abe's great grandmother, Abigail Harrison ) I find this movie trailer to be just alittle over-the-top. Is it offensive to his legacy/memory??? ..not sure yet.Doesn't look all that positive.
Union 5-3992
I dunno, Lincoln was a bit of a dick. He doesn't deserve the bright and shiny image he has today. He did do some great things, but he did do some terrible things. *I'm a distant relative of John Adams. He is one of least favorite presidents*
go2wrk@95974
That could be true..president's are human too..we all make mistakes. We wouldn't be the USA of today without him...that's for sure.
Union 5-3992
Both of them walked all over the constitution. And Lincoln liberated the slaves only to hurt the south, not out of any real moral obligation. And the south probably would have joined the Union again after a few years due to their terrible economy.

I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be some biting commentary on his legacy. "Offensive" is a word far too frequently bandied about, IMO.

Let's turn a thread about a movie in which an American president thinks he's Buffy the Vampire Slayer into a serious political discourse that will get it moved into SOCN. It's Abraham Lincoln fighting vampires for fk's sake. Don't take it so seriously!
go2wrk@95974
Hey Dan, I said I'm not sure...I'm gonna have to see the flick first. ..Then I can make a judgement on it. Might be decent, for all I know.
JohnnyBlaze
Sounds like total shit. He'd be much cooler as a survivor of a zombie outbreak.

Well, the author of 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer' did also write 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies', so maybe there will be a zombie-filled sequel. Both were amusing reads, and I'm sorta looking forward to the movie! http://teainateacup.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/pride-and-prejudice-and-zombies.jpg

If that doesn't scream "Sleepy Hollow" I don't know what does!
