Drewski Posted January 7, 2012 Share Posted January 7, 2012 Very interesting. 2112 as an opener would be awesome and appropriate. I'd hope they put in Grand Finale on this tour though. To critique your wish list, I think Lock and Key and Half the World would be hard to play live to their full extent. Also, as much as I like Mystic Rhythms, it's a bit of a snoozer live to the average fan. My wish list of songs include Emotion Detector and The Pass. Jacobs ladder wouldn't hurt either. hannuFIN Posted January 7, 2012 Share Posted January 7, 2012 At least these I'd like to hear "Big Money", "Freewill", "Xanadu", "Distant Early Warning", "Between The Wheels", "Analog Kid", ""Pass", "Manhattan Project", "Entre Nous / Natural Science", "Countdown/Losing It", "Red Barchetta (the one and only old version with Alex coast to coast smiling to roadies...)" and some old time surprises like "Anthem" and "Something for Nothing". There's not that much spirit on the radio anymore so I'd drop that (there used to be a lot during 1960-end of 80's, now they go to internet and old timers are gone for period). Tom Sawyer as well, drop that (or do the less educated with Rush need that and journalists who write the reviews..). And no more BU2B nor Far Cry (give them a rest), play instead "Earthshine" which's danceable heh.., "Presto", "Territories" as they have those in Canada where their mentality comes from, from the darkness of nature of light and winter nights Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I doubt that Lee could pull off Something For Nothing these days. I would imagine the band themselves would quickly realise how badly some of those "side 2" tracks have dated and certainly they aren't particularly interesting musically. Dylan2712 Posted January 13, 2012 Share Posted January 13, 2012 Just a wild guess, but since the theme of Clockwork Angels is going to be "steampunk/ future rooted in the past", perhaps they will play songs that are futuristic/apocalyptic in nature. here's my short and, in my opinion, realistic wishlist: 2112 (full) Red Sector A Dreamline Between the Wheels Jacobs Ladder Cygnus X-1 Xanadu (more fantasy themed, but would be a nice surprise!) however, there are other songs that i would like to see as well. The Big Money (possible opener) MalNar /Drum solo Resist (half acoustic, then electric after the bridge) Presto (i've come to love this one) Ghost of a Chance One Little Victory (another possible opener, also (IMO) could fit in with the futuristic side) any of these would be awesome, and anything else would be just as awesome. doesn't matter to me really, im gonna see them regardless of what they play. They basically have to play Limelight, YYZ, TSOR and Tom Sawyer (as nice as it would be to see some of those get a spot of rest) It would also be nice if they did another Instrumedley of songs that are just too high for Ged (Hemispheres, maybe some bits from the COS epics, etc) No matter what they play, I'll definitely be going to see it! What it all comes down to is, if the album is completely a Concept album then I think they will keep the songs together , If it's just a Clockwork Angels Suite and other unrelated songs following the suite like 2112, then I think we will see some of those unrelated songs appearing in the first set. regardless I think they'll be performing the suite as a whole in the second set!
