USB Connector
I measure by the matter that is present, not what is absent. Either way, if there's a glass that's half filled in front of me then it is very likely that it will be consumed or used in an experiment (flasks and beakers are made of glass). priest_of_syrinx
Assuming there is an atmosphere, the glass is completely full. Half of the contents is liquid; the other half is gas.

AgentScotty
There's an image floating around of 3 glasses: The first one says "I'm half full", the second one says "I'm half empty" and the third one says "I think this is [urine]"... Google for "Half full half empty [4 letter word for urine]" to find it.

Fred Star
Now, y'see.. to me this depends on whether the glass is being filled or emptied.. i.e, Half Full - filling as opposed to Half Empty - emptying. Oh! .. can i have the garlic wedges with that..? Edited October 5, 2011 by Fred Star
