  1. I'm not sure when I voted, but I deleted and revoted just in case. In another year I'll have to do that again.
  2. I hear that line all the time on WAAF's Hill-Man Morning Show.

QUOTE (Gompers @ Feb 17 2012, 07:11 AM) I just visited for the first time. It says I have been permanently banned. Great site. After running into that problem, I googled the forum address and clicked the "Translate" link, which got me around the ban.
  5. I thought... Sep po = American Sep poes = Americans was a hoot...
  6. I see lots of cyclists blow through stop signs and red lights. If there's a stop sign and no crossing traffic (I ride mainly on back roads with very few cars) I'll slow to 2-3 MPH and then go. If there's a red light I'll stop no matter what. If my bike doesn't have enough metal to trip the light green, I'll run it if I've waited 30-60 seconds and there's no crossing traffic.
  7. QUOTE (Mara @ Nov 16 2011, 05:04 PM) Idiots who slow down when they're approaching the green light, as if they're expecting it to turn red before they get there. Well, duh, slow down enough and it WILL. The same people also optimistically speed up as they near the red light. We have the countdowns now in much of my area, installed on the "Walk/Don't Walk" signals. People see they've got five seconds left until the light changes and floor it. I used to drive a 12 ton truck, and sometimes slowing down before an intersection was a necessity. As I approached an intersection, I either had to be going slow enough to stop no matter what, or fast enough to run the light no matter what. Anywhere in between was trouble. If the speed limit was 40, and 40 was too fast to be able to stop if the light changed, I had to slow down. Once I was within the last few truck lengths before the intersection, I was in the clear even if the light instantly turned yellow, assuming there was no car in front of me that could slam on the brakes. I also had to slow down if there was any traffic in front of me. If a car could stop in 50 feet, but it would take me 100 feet to make the same stop, I had to slow down enough to open up that extra 50 feet. Truck drivers can't assume the light will stay green when approaching an intersection, or that the car in front of them will stomp the gas to beat a yellow light. When I'm driving a regular car, I'm more likely to step on the gas when approaching an intersection, because it only takes a few seconds for crossing traffic to trip my light yellow, and I'd rather see that in the rearview mirror than have to stop for it.
  8. I hate ppl that merge at 50 MPH, forcing me over into the middle lane, and then speed up to 70 MPH, pinning me out in the middle lane. WOULD IT BE THAT #&@%ING HARD TO MERGE AT 70 MPH AND LEAVE ME IN PEACE? --- ...your avatar and post made me think of "Don't put a big *** spoiler on the back like you see on all the other ******head's cars...
  9. There's an image floating around of 3 glasses: The first one says "I'm half full", the second one says "I'm half empty" and the third one says "I think this is [urine]"... Google for "Half full half empty [4 letter word for urine]" to find it.
  10. Not Rush-related, but the first thing that pops into my head when I see "Kenneth" is "What's the Frequency?"...
  11. My IRA swung from a 24.5% gain in October 2007 to a 30% loss in late 2008/early 2009, and had climbed back to a 5% gain, but then the SEC threw that stinkbomb at Goldman Sachs, the poop hit the fan with the PIIGS, and now I'm down 3.8%.
  12. QUOTE (Queen of Megadon @ May 5 2010, 11:17 PM) Hey WAW...nice to meet you! Welcome! Been a fan since Signals...The shows this summer will be #23 and #24 (your screen name is familiar, have i seen you on other sites?) I'm not sure how many ppl have that nick, but I'm "Wide-Angle Watcher" on Counterparts. It was originally part of my title during the "Board War" between TRI-net and CP. Someone on TRI-net had intimated that members of CP were sewer rats, so many CP members adopted custom titles with "Rat" references. Mine was "Wide-Angle Watcher of Rats' Ancient Tails"...
  13. What was the filename of the first pic? As a veteran of the internet, I have already surmised that the filename of the second pic was "blowout.jpg"...
