I'll be in Toronto or the immediate vicinity from 18th-29th July. If I'm not in Toronto for the non-Rushcon days, I'll be either: in Kitchener visiting my Cousin, Elmira visiting my Auntie, Niagara Falls - coz I love it there biggrin.gif or just choosing somewhere interesting to visit.....anyone any good ideas? I have been up to Tobermory and northwards through Orillia to Algonquin, but never ventured NorthEastwards towards Ottawa.

Drive along the Niagara Parkway to Fort Erie. Awesome yes.gif

There's a racetrack in Fort Erie wink.gif I've galloped many horses there. biggrin.gif

Too bad they tore down Crystal Beach's amusement park though, or you could have stopped there sad.gif

There are a million different historical sights to see right along the St. Lawrence River starting off in Kingston (if your in the area, look me up). You absolutly have to do a Thousand Islands cruise (Kingston offers a Dinner Cruis, and Gananoque offers a 3 hours tour with a stop-off at Bolt Castle on Heart Island).... and if your into that kinda stuff, theres a charity Casino in Ganaoque as well.

There are probably too many people that will be up there that will want to kill me! Seriously, I have better things to spend my time & money on.

What are you talking about? Why would somebody want to kill you?

I don't mean literally!! After all that crap on other boards, (although I'm not sure you paid much attention to it), I don't think I'd be terribly welcome!!

Anyway, my big trip this year is the Stones gig at Fenway. My friend is on their crew and he's invited the missus and me up there for a nice weekend!

hang out with other Rush fans, hear guest speakers close to the band, participate in games, seeing a tribute band, see Rush related sites in and around Toronto, visit the Orbit Room (Alex's bar), charity auction...

. . . I think any true Rush fan would be quick to put their differences aside and greet you warmly regardless of how much water has passed under the bridge.

The notion of huge numbers of Rush fans meeting and greeting each other, swapping stories and such, should overcome hard feelings and the like. The very action of assembling under a common interest is akin to burying the proverbial hatchet, I would say. - MitA

In the past, boards have set aside their differences and hung out. RushCon is kinda considered holy ground. What boards you are member of shouldn't factor in, or even if you belong to one.

MiTa, something tells me Grrrl had a hand in your deciding to attend.!

I used to live right beside the Days Inn where it's being held this year.

I've just purchased tickets to the Gangster of Boats Cruise for John and me.

All that's left is airline tickets and hotel reservations. Prices have come down on Air Canada since I last looked.
