Inspired by the what happened to the BMan thread.

Steve was the creator of the the Rush fan magazine, "A Show Of Fans"

I have hung out with him at a few shows and man was he a freak!

I remember him crying during "Bravado" once and he saying in his high voice as he was crying, "I DON'T CARE! I DON'T CARE!"

He kind of creeped me out.

He also got married at a Rush show to some girl Rush fan he met.

I met some very interesting over the top Rush fans back in the day, but none like Steve.

If your out there Steve, sorry, I hope you have found a grip on reality. atickhum.gif

I guess I must be old. No one remembers the publication, "A Show Of Fans"?

It was a cool thing to read before the internet existed.

I subscribed to that fanmag. It had some interesting stuff, and a few great pics. I also recall a pretty cool crossword puzzle.

And yes... I definitely remember the full page ad on the wedding announcement. It would take place during the RTB tour during Ghost of a Chance. It was through this subscription I quickly developed my aversion for being around groups of fans, and such. I'm still surprised at myself for joining TRF because of this aversion, but this place had (and still has) a very different feel - as though I'm not just some lemming with only a name tag to differentiate myself.

From what I remember (which is not much), ASOF fell away to the internet and had a short lived web-page. Unfortunately, the marriage didn't end well.

Have you tried to find the guy on Facebook? He sounds a little extreme, yes.

he/ it was based out of Rockford, Illinois.

I had all of those mags. no clue where they are now.

Never met him, but I was published in one... talked about my first Rush experience.

Never met him and I didn't get involved in whatever drama there was at the end.

I still got all of those fanzines. I even won a contest from him.

I preferred The Spirit Of Rush more. I like my fanzines to be a lot less graphics intensive than A Show Of Fans was, but it did have its moments.

I've been known to have tears in my eyes during Bravado myself (more often than not during the extended jam at the end) so I'm not sure what the implication is there.
