Hatchetaxe&saw
Around 5 minutes into the Caught Alive +5 version of Legend Of A Mind the song goes stratospheric, loads of swirling mellotron, great bass runs by Lodge and Edge goes mental on the skins. Cracking stuff. 2 beautiful, fluid guitar solos, one is on Wishlist by Pearl Jam and the other one is on It's A Mistake by Men At Work.

Gilby
Both of Gilmours solos on comfortably numb from delicate sound of thunder. Totally with whalerfan regarding the solo of the live version of Bangkok. Odd one maybe, solo off of wasted years by iron maiden. Just seems to be a perfect construction of of a solo for the song, love the intro too. The whole build up and solo/ crescendo off splintering heart by marillion. Tommy Sawyer
So many.... 2112- "My life-blood spills over...." David Gilmour's solo in 'Time', especially the end transition to the next verse. When Steve Howe's guitar solo starts in the Wurm section of 'Starship Trooper'. When Jimmy Page's guitar solo starts in 'In the Evening'. The first 'I get up, I get down' in Close to the Edge. In 'The Pass', when the bridge(?) starts - 'No hero in your tragedy...' There are of course many more.
Earthshine Emmeline
QUOTE (Tommy Sawyer @ Jun 7 2011, 02:30 PM) 2112- "My life-blood spills over...." In 'The Pass', when the bridge(?) starts - 'No hero in your tragedy...' those two for sure, and in Bravado "And when the music stops/ There's only the sound of the rain" gives me shivers. In the Air Tonight, right after "It's no stranger to you and me." I air drum every time And don't make fun of me for this, but in Lady Gaga's Alejandro, that pause in the intro. Love it. GuitarKid 1880
Quadrophenia-The Who: From 4:05 through the remainder of the song Love Reign O'er Me-The Who: I'll just say the whole song The Remembering (High the Memory)-Yes: from 17:31 through, and the 2'nd "Relayer" verse. Once-Pearl Jam: When the elecric guitar kicks in at 39 seconds, through to the one minute mark, I also like the verse "Backseat lover on the side of the rode, I got a bomb under my temple and it's gonna explode, got a 16 gauge berried under my clothes, I pray" <--that's a lot. I know there is more in there somewhere...
