Your_Lion
QUOTE (Tony R @ Jun 6 2011, 11:28 PM) I've just been watching an episode from Season 9; Day Of The Daleks. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I would because latterly I have grown tired of Pertwee's Doctor. Yeah, I think Day of the Daleks is a great story. I just thought it was a shame that they didn't include a bit at the end to tie up the part where the Doctor and Jo met their future selves. Apparently there was a scene that dealt with it in the original script, but they didn't film it, because the director didn't think it was necessary. Just a small point. I agree, Pertwee isn't one of my favourite doctors, but I still love his era. The Brigadier is fantastic (RIP) and I've always had a bit of a crush on Jo Grant

Great story and a great introduction for Sarah Jane (another RIP) There's some fantastic dialogue between the Sontaran and the medieval knights...but it was written by Robert Holmes, who was a master of witty dialogue. Unattractive Truth
A Good Man Goes to War... Holy crap! How was that for a cliffhanger?? Of all the scenarios I contemplated, that was not one of them. I can't wait for the second half.

Your_Lion
Just got the Mannequin Mania boxset, featuring the special edition of Spearhead from Space, and it's sequel Terror of the Autons. Slightly annoying that you have to re-buy Spearhead (albeit a better looking version with new extras) just so that you can get Terror of the Autons. But they're both classics. TotA being the first story to feature the Master, and includes the famous "death by plastic chair" and "death by ugly doll" scenes. Gave my old copy of Spearhead to friend, so I guess it's win/win. Anyone been watching the new Torchwood series Miracle Day? Or is that on another thread? Yeah, I've been watching it. Seems pretty good so far, although as yet, I prefer the Children of Earth. But it's great to have Jane Espenson on the writing staff, because I always loved her writing on Buffy/Angel/Firefly Edited July 25, 2011 by Your_Lion
