Armageddon Jukebox

Ok, you just got word that a nuclear bomb is on its way to your house, and there is not enough time to get away. So with these last few moments, you have decided to listen to 5 songs. Now I ask you this, if you were faced with this problem, what 5 songs would you choose, assuming no time limit (the bomb is patiently hoding itself in suspention over your house until you have finished all 5)

My armageddon 5 songs would be....

Nine Inch Nails - The Day The World Went Away

David Bowie - Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)

Rush - The Weapon

Pink Floyd - Dogs

The Who - Love Reign O'er Me

Rush - The Fountain Of Lamneth

Rush - Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

(Well, you said that the bomb would be suspended in air until the songs finished!)

Rush - 2112
Rush - The Fountain Of Lamneth
Rush - Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres
Pink Floyd - The Trial
Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

(Well, you said that the bomb would be suspended in air until the songs finished!)

So don't pick Comfortably Numb, that's not very long. Pick Echoes...thats longer than 2112.

Mine:

1. Rush - Between the Wheels

2. Yes - Close to the Edge

3. Kate Bush - Babooshka

4. Rush - 2112

5. Nine Inch Nails - The Great Below

I thought about choosing Atom Heart Mother Suite, but I went with the song I liked more.

Rush - Tom Sawyer

Pink Floyd - Brain Damage / Eclipse

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird

Pink Floyd - Take It Back

Rush - Bravado

And then off to The Great Gig In The Sky. Sure hope the Afterlife has the complete Floyd and Rush library.

I'm locked onto one key thought before I pick my 4 songs. The bomb won't go off until I've finished. Therefore, I'm only listening to 4 then get on with my life with a rocket circling over my house. Eventually (hopefully) it will run out of fuel and plop down without detonation, and make a nice ornament for around the pond. tongue.gif

But what would they be?? Damn. Gotta think on that one a bit.

Rush - Bravado

Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster (very fitting for my stupid plan)

Boston - Foreplay/Longtime

Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do (Live)

Then a glass of wine to go watch the rocket.

[sighs and accepts inevitable]

ok - for 5th and life ending pick:

I'll go with Gap Band as well. It's a kick ass song, and I have a 7+ minute version of it somewhere in the pile of records back from my DJing days.

Hmm, so many songs, so little time.

I think it would have to be:

Rush: Red Barchetta

Led Zeppelin: Kashmir

The Kinks: Waterloo Sunset

Justin Hayward: The Eve of the War

Genesis: Dancing With the Moonlit Knight
