Rushchick10
I'm watching the Live in Austin DVD right now and that man is AMAZING! I've loved EJ for a long time (Since Ah Via Musicom) and he never ceases to amaze me. His talent knows no ends! I am a bassist primarily, but he makes me want to abandon it all and play guitar all the time (then I watch Geddy play bass and I change my mind ). Some of my favorite EJ songs (in no particular order): Forty Mile Town Song for Lynette (EJ on piano...gorgeous!) Trail Of Tears Forever Yours Camel's Night Out Zap! Cliffs Of Dover (come on...you knew that was coming!) Trademark Righteous Do share! Any other EJ lovers out there?!?!?!
Earthshine
He is great. I love all of his albums. Recently Bloom has become a favorite. He is a total vegetarian and totally straight; doesn't drink nor smoke. Very rare nowadays.

He did a great cover of My Back Pages. Got a poster and CD autographed by him at the Acoustic concert. Pretty sweet! It was cool to shake his hand...didn't really get to talk to him though. Big crowd and all.

Cliffs Of Dover (come on...you knew that was coming!) Trademark Righteous Do share! Any other EJ lovers out there?!?!?! That is a great DVD! And they were kind enough to put it out on CD as well. The one song I wish had been included (maybe it wasn't even written yet) was Trademark. That song is included on his most recent DVD, Anaheim. The real stand out track from Austin City Limits (aside from Righteous and Cliffs of Dover,) is Western Flyer. I can watch, or just listen to, that over and over. And if you really like that style of shredding, I highly recommend you check out Joe Bonamassa playing "Just Got Paid." Here he is last year at the North Sea Jazz Festival And here he is last year from the Royal Albert Hall. Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your EJ thread! treeduck
Yeah I'm a long time Eric Johnson fan, as a guitarist he has other worldly tone and amazing chops, great taste and nice rock and blues sensibilities but he's a master of many other styles too, country, flamenco, classical, jazz etc... He's good songwriter and singer too... What more can you ask?

tangy
as i have mentioned before EJ and slew of other killer guitarists/bands are on the experience hendrix tour. My peak EJ experience was front row center for the venus isle tour. I managed to catch the ah via musicom tour twice. the first being at peabodys in cleveland and the second was at the most unusual venue i have ever seen a show- the air force academy in colorado springs. the venue had amazing sound as you would expect but they only sold sold wine and pretzels and obviously having a vigorous session would of been ill advised there.
