Columbus tickets just got further away!

Well I was very happy to get tickets in Section 104 when the presale started. At that time the "Rush seat map configuration" showed this section to be the first section away from the stage on Geddy's side. I guess sales were brisk enough that they now have the stage set back one whole section further adding more floor seats. If this keeps up I guess they could still push the stage back even further! So without doing anything my seat just got 50 feet further away. Nice trick! angry.gif

While I agree with that, this would have happened even if I had bought my tickets on public sale day. They had the stage set in one place then decided to push it back to sell more tickets. So if you have tickets off the floor you have just joined me in the further away club!

Do you have a picture of the new layout? I don't think they are going to push back people with front row seats back to the 2nd section.

No they added a row z to the first section and rows e-p to the second section.

So if you already had seats on the floor, your seat just moves with the new stage placement. You are the same distance away. This just sucks for the rest of the 60% of lower and upper bowl ticket holders!

This is tearing me the f**k apart. I haven't been this mad in a LONG time. I'm on ticketmaster at 10 am the day they go on sale and get DECENT lower bowl seats. Then 4 days later, they have FLOOR SEATS available. NOW THEY'RE SHOVING THE DAMN STAGE FARTHER FROM ME. f**k THIS. I'm not sure who I should be angry with at the moment, but I hope it doesn't end up being Rush. It should be FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Lazy people don't deserve better seats than me.

Yeah I thought it was kind of sad when I first saw the seating map and realized that they were only trying to sell a half arena setup. I can't believe that they didn't know they could/would sell more seats than that. It just sucks that this was the option instead of adding a second show.

Oh by the way the Nationwide arena still has the old map on it's site.

And here's the new setup from Ticketmaster

They added a little bump on the end of the stage that appears to have actually pushed bac the front row a little too!

Wonder what the little half round "whoopydoo" thingy is in front of the stage that wasn't in the previous layout?

I don't know but it looks like it pushes the floor seats back a bit also!

Wait, what?  That's ridiculous.  You should go scream at Ticketmaster until you get this resolved.  That would piss me off too.

The really sad thing is I actually threw back Section 103 row b seats because I wanted the more front stage angle and now those seats are about where I thought I was sitting before this crap!

I just got off the phone with Music Today and the guy told me that the BAND has the right to change the configuration to sell more seats and that I should be happy that the show is selling so well. I asked him how happy he would be if he had great seats really close to the stage and the band he was going to see decided to move the stage to the opposite side of the arena making his seats in the back of the place and he just laughed and said I should get in touch with band and then he hung up! comp26.gif

Well I guess I'll just get right on the private phone to RUSH and straighten this out!

I've been going to concerts for over 34 years and have never had any band decide to move their stage after tickets were selling. WTF!!!!

Just because the band decides to open more seats, doesn't mean you should get the shaft!!! Squeeze the late buyers in the back!! Why would that be so hard?? I'd be shittn bricks!!!

Cute! Let's see if you are nice and calm when the usher comes to your seat and moves you fifteen rows back because the band thought that somebody else deserved a closer seat than you.

You're still only 15-ish rows away. Stop crying. At least you're not on the lawn like some people...or the equivalent of the lawn in an arena.

I'm sorry. I am an American and haven't quite gotten used to Socialism. You're right. Hell, I should be ashamed that I even got a ticket at all. Some people didn't even get the chance to get a really close seat and then have it traded for a further back seat. I should just give my tickets to some poor unfortunate, and while he's at the show maybe I could wash his car in the parking lot.

This whole thing is dumb. They should always have had the stage further back, then sell the seats from the floor and bottom bowl up. In Philly they did this (S&A II), and largely just sold the floor and lower level, still a respectable number of seats. But the stage is always at the end.

Looking at it, I would think they did you a favor. You now have a better view of the entire stage. Better angle to see all the video screens, Neil, etc. Not such a sharp, side view any longer...
