    Clockwork Angels @ Marcus Amp
  1. Take this for what it's worth. I'm not trying to stir the pot by any means but... My brother in law works for World Festival Inc and helps with the bookings for the bands for Summerfest in Milwaukee (and the Marcus Amp) along with the other festivals throughout the year there. There have been discussions about a booking during Summerfest in 2017. There is a lot of conversation happening. Nothing concrete by any stretch. He knows I'm a fan, so he is usually pretty guarded when he mentions anything to me. The fact that he brought it up at all gives me a glimmer of hope. Time will tell.
  2. There were early discussions for a Milwaukee date but it didn't pan out. Summerfest has a July 4th band that is being finalized but it not the boys unless something has changed in the past few days. Brother in law does works at World Fest inc and has been keeping me in the loop who they have been booking. Sadly, I'll have to drive to Chicago on June 12th. But I'm not complaining
  3. Looking to bring my son to the show. Need 2 tix. Prefer lower "100" sections. Willing to pay a little more than face but not what they are asking on the TM sites. Thanks!
  4. Not trying to fan the flames of rumors here... But a roadtrip to Milwaukee in late June-early July should start being planned. Summerfest 2015 is in the works.
  5. Section 3, row U, close to middle aisle. Just found out I can't make it. These are e-tickets from Ticketmaster that I can transfer to you. Looking to get what I paid for them. If you were thinking about going, this should prove to be a great day. 4th of July at Summerfest should be one for the ages. Milwaukee always has a great crowd and the shuttle bus makes it super easy to get in and out of the area. Shoot me a message if interested. Thanks
  6. QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Aug 2 2012, 03:55 PM) I'm excited... rumors are abuzz in the Milwaukee area that Rush will be playing Summerfest again in 2013 Brother in law works for World Festivals Inc. He says that it is "tenative" but likely Rush will close the Summerfest 2013. Take it for what it's worth but I have put it on my calendar.
  7. I did not do VIP last tour. I looked on TM 2 weeks prior to the Summerfest show in 2010 and got 3 tickets in the 12th row dead center for face value. I haven't bought a ticket when they first go on sale for any concert for several years. Great seats open up all the time. You just have to be patient and keep checking from time to time.
  8. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Apr 8 2012, 08:08 PM) QUOTE (toonz @ Apr 8 2012, 05:31 PM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Apr 8 2012, 08:10 AM) QUOTE (toonz @ Apr 8 2012, 07:57 AM) If they do play it, they could use a "guest" violinist from a local symphony. They announce tour dates far enough in advance that a professional musician would have plenty of time to work out the arrangement and could practice "live" with the band during soundcheck the day of the show. Piece of cake. A Professional Violinist wouldn't capture the emotion and fell that Ben Mink borought to that song! What he did was just brilliant! I disagree. Having been to the symphony several times, I'd argue that all of the musicians evoke extreme emotion from their playing. So you're saying that everytime Rush plays on stage, they are capturing the same emotion of the original recording? Don't think so. For the record I perform with an Orchestra twice if not 3 times a year, I've sang with Bocelli during his last two Valentine Concerts in South Florida. I'm not saying they don't play with emotion, I'm just saying they won't capture the same feeling that the creator of the piece can capture. So, No thats not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is no-one can play Paganini better than Paganini, NoOne can play RUSH better than RUSH, No-one can play Ben Mink's part in Signals better than Ben Mink himself. That's what I'm Saying. I'm sure that even after 200+ years that Mozart can still conduct Mozart better than anyone that has come after. He wrote it, he knows exactly how the dynamics should be, he knows how the phrasing should be, He knows what the actual tempo of a piece is. Everything else is pretty much speculation. Regardless, of its noted on the Score. Its all a matter of perception. A Pianissimo to someone may be a Mezzo Piano to someone else. And the writters perception, I Feel is more acurate than any other persons doing the same piece. I feel Alex can play the lead in Limelight better than anyone else. He knows the phrasing, he knows exactly what it should sound like, If he plays it like that or not is his personal decision. And I do agree after 30 years maybe even Ben Mink can't reproduce his effort exactly, But I feel he would be the one that could come closest to it! Understood. If they play it, I would prefer it be played "live" rather than a sample.

  11. Plan on a Summerfest show for RUSH again in 2011. They had a decent crowd the last 2 times they played there. They seem to like playing there and the Festival organizers like having them.
  12. I hope Rush or their reps fight this. They almost have to otherwise any other time this issue shows up, they will be paying. You chose to buy from a scalper. You chose to fly from NY to Chicago. You chose to trust that the show would go on. It didn't and your pissed. Fine. Grow up and realize that Shit happens! I hope you can afford the attorneys that represent RUSH cause $500 is nothing to what you will end up paying when you lose. Good luck. You're gonna need it. Do you sue your girlfriend if you buy ticktes to a movie and she cancels on you?
  13. Usually, they will not permit any camera that has a removable lens. If you have a large SLR, my guess would be that they won't allow it in. I usually just bring my small digital camera in with me. If they don't allow cameras, I will just "crotch" it. Or, I'll give it to my son. Let him take the fall
  14. QUOTE (LotusLand @ Jun 29 2010, 08:52 PM) 20 rows back in Milw this Sat....can't wait for Faithless and SIO. At least I know when to leave for the rest rooms. Me too...Section 2 row U!
  15. That's not a bad idea really...I'm taking my son to his first show and would like to have him get familier with what songs are going to be played. This would be a way for me to get him the correct songs without knowing the order.
