RUSHHEAD666
I think this is the third thread for "HOT TUB TIME MACHINE" but it is well deserved!! Just saw the flick with Wendy today. It will blow your mind!! Literally!! I remember reading that some people on here think that it looked really stupid. Well you must be 17 or 18 years young then. If you are over 40 you will laugh your fukking arse off. Hell I was a senior in high school back in 1986. This is the best comedy I have seen since "Airplane!" Seriously. "Home Sweet Home" is blasting on my stereo as I type right now and I am loving it!! A Freaky Geeky Prog Hard Rock Heavy Metalist! That's me!! Pass the Cheetos, the 2 liter Pepsi and the Hustler Magazine.......................

treeduck
Floyd Mayweather mentioned this film last night on 27/7 he said in reference to Mosley: "Kid's got a jheri curl man, Come on man it's 2010. The kid must have woke up in a hot tub time machine!" For boxing fans here's the show: http://slumz.boxden.com/f16/youtube-hbo-ma...-1-new-1360523/ the Edited April 11, 2010 by treeduck

But it is really funny if you lived through the '80s.
Presto-digitation
DVD renter for me, as was The Hangover. That film was pretty disappointing. Laughed much more during Adventureland.

nobodys hero
I think the key here is it works for those who lived through all the 80's craziness. My daughter who's in high school is hearing how stupid it is, but teens weren't there to experience it, a lot of us were. I hope to see it this weekend. Yeah, it was pretty much frat level comedy with older actors, but the comedy itself wasn't particularly clever or original to me. I've seen this film before in many varieties over the years. rushgoober
Looking forward to this one... when it hits cable. Still waiting for The Hangover to hit cable... I'd, ya know, rent it, but the missus and I are renting tv series, and don't want to interrupt them for movies not on cable - we'll wait... Rush Cocky
I still think I may go see this one. I'm sure I would appreciate the 80s nostalgia.
Xanadoood
When i saw John Cusack in the cast, i changed my mind about checking it out. He doesnt make a lot of bad movies. My vote for best comedy in years goes to eith The Hangover or Superbad. And possibly Pineapple Express.

peoplecanteatmachinefood
The Hangover was a terrible film, in my opinion. I thought it was unfunny and just plain stupid. Hot Tub Time Machine was so much better. "What color is Michael Jackson?" "Black."

RUSHHEAD666
This truly is one of the greatest comedies ever! I know a lot of you love THE HANG OVER, but man, I laughed a lot more during HOT TUB! Heck, I didn't tear up in Hang Over at all like in Hot Tub! I was talking about this movie over lunch today with my dad and brother. They haven't seen it yet but they want too. I then told my dad about the RUSH TIME MACHINE TOUR! He then told me that Rush should have a hot tub on the stage! Classic! I can see it now, Geddy, Alex and Neil are sitting in a hot tub as the stage curtain is lifted. All three of them emerge from the hot tub in silk kimotos and run to their instruments and go right into "Tom Sawyer." Hot Tub Time Machine 1981! Forget 1986! Hey do you think the Hot Tub Time Machine writer will write a sequel? His father lives out here in the Bay Area. Lafayette to be exact!! ROCK ON!!!
