TODAY'S THE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

but its looking like rain all day/night http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/sad.gif

I have a friend who lives in Saratoga -- she heard on the news this morning that it might be OK for the show tonight (I guess the weatherman specifically mentioned the Rush show at SPAC too)

Here in Central NY...it's pouring, and has been pouring nonstop since 6.

and it's all moving east, so...I get to experience the same rain twice.

so...if you see someone in a black jacket that has a small McLane logo on the front, that's me. (it's the logo of the company I work for, it has a triangle overlaping another triangle on it above the word McLane, we got it for 4 million safe hours, and only our division got them, I'm the only one going, so it's unique). That's all the rain gear I have (and it's just a light jacket).

I have far more snow gear. I desperately just wanted to wear jeans and a t-shirt, but it just had to rain.

Still haven't decided when I'm leaving.

Do you have lawn tix?

You can bring an umbrella into SPAC. I plan on waiting in line w/ mine.

Still not better tickets on ticketmaster http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/angry.gif

...I don't have an umbrella (or lawn tix).

I should probably get an umbrella, though I would lose it quickly.

and

it finally stopped raining here (at least for a little while)

We're getting quite a deluge here in the Capital Region this afternoon.

Time-wise, I should be there when the gates open at 6:30, so I'll have time for mechandise, meeting my high school chums, and stopping to see the TRF gang, too. That is... if the TRF gang is hanging out on the lawn by the middle bridge tonight in RAIN. Let's hope it stops.

PSYCHED for the show, though!

I think we *might* be ok tonight?

Hey J, my girl, Kelly, is gonna be there tonight, she's 5th row, I think Ged's side, not sure though - if you see her, be sure to say Hi (let her know youre a friend of mine (I'm not sure she knows my TRF handle though, so refer to me by my actual name, Kathy lol). Here's her latest picture, lucky, lucky girl:

I'm thinking they have no problem with cell phones, so long as they're set to "vibrate" instead of ring.

That's what I'm counting on, anyway, since I'll have MY cell, too.

BTW Jill, that number is 518-859-8368, in case you need it while we're roaming the grounds tonight.

And it looks like the rain is coming down more gently than it was when I last posted. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif

Rain has stopped, but still scattered showers in the forecast for tonight, possibly lightning.

I'll be leaving soon to do a few errands and then straight to the venue...

Enjoy! Hope to see some of you there!

Fantastic show! Front row center of the balcony. This was by far the best seat I have ever had (including few rows back Ged's side). I could see everything and hear everything perfectly. My 11 year old was ecstatic-still is this morning. He exclaimed as we walked to the parking lot, "That was awesome-I got to see Witch Hunt live!"

well that was pretty freaking awesome http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/1022.gif

Sums it up. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

I was so happy. This hasn't happened before, but I nearly cried when they hit the stage and while they were playing the first half of "Spirit of Radio." I love these guys so much, I thought. I'm so proud to be a Rush fan, to have been a big Rush fan all these many years, and proud that "I get it." I love them. These are my heroes, both musically and on a personal level.

Sorry I missed everyone at SPAC. I arrived an hour later than I had hoped - 7:30 instead of 6:30 - and just didn't have the time to do everything I wanted to do before showtime.

after mohegan i was like "why am i doing all these shows, eeesh"

saratoga quickly reminded me why. this was a really great rush show. they still got it and they certainly had it last night. alex' solos were REALLY good. geddy was in a grove i never really saw before, very studly instead of corny. neil was f*ckin' awesome and they all knew it was one of those nights imo

great show! now i'm in long island getting ready for another...http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wacko.gif :]

It was and awesome show!! The only problem I had is that I was sitting on the far end of the stage on Geddy's side and the amps that were hanging there blocked my view as well as many other in that area from seeing the video screen. It was so good that I didn't even miss the videos at all. Despite that the venue has a really cool setup to it. I had never been there before and will definitely go back there again if I have the chance again.

It was very cool to hear TSS, Marathon and TCE for the first time live. I've seen them seven times now and it's cool to see that they'll still do a few I haven't heard before. Presto was a highlight for me. I've always liked it a lot and it was awesome to see them play it live.

Even though the crowd didn't know everything, strange they seemed to die during TCE http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/confused13.gif, they still cheered very loudly after every song. Which I guess speaks to how good of performers they are that they can take an obscure song and still get loud applause after the song is done.

Another cool thing was since it was a gloomy day and the venue's stage is set up to where a lot of sunlight can't really get in we got the full light show with everything. Instead of having most of the first set while the sun is still out.

I don't know how they keep doing it but I hope they continue to for as long as they can. They're both phenomenal and flawless live.

I don't remember which song it was, but I noticed Geddy was essentially THRUSTING his pelvis, electric bass in front of it, at those in the front row. I thought, "Now doesn't Jill wish her front row tickets were for THIS show, instead of in 2008?" http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

This was exactly my experience. Extreme Geddy's side, almost ALL THE WAY to that end of the stage, and I couldn't see more than a corner of the screen.

Just goes to show. The crowd stood for EVERY SONG, even the ballads. There was never a song where the people said, "Aw hell, I'm sitting for this crap." This was actually a sticking point for my brother-in-law, who kept complaining that he wanted to sit.
