yyztmmb
QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Apr 22 2010, 07:51 PM) LOL! You know, it's tough because the park itself is pretty big and there are many options for parking, getting into the venue, etc. It's confusing, I know. Pit at SPAC? You won't find a better pit area IMO. The stage is RIGHTTHERE in front row, so even a few rows back is like front row at other venues. Take for example Darien Lake. I saw them there years ago and while I was far back, front row looked like it was several feet away -- and down -- from the stage. Sucks! At SPAC front row, I could almost tell if Geddy double-knotted his shoelaces or not. Yeah...I remember the size of the park being an issue, and you didn't end up parking where you had thought as I recall. And I got something to eat before the show, which I hadn't planned on. I've been Row 1 section 1 before, but I could only look longingly at you guys in the Pit. This year, I said "screw it", because I'm not going to the Mohegan Sun like last time. I've been close at Darien Lake, but not up front. I don't care for that venue as much. Saw Alanis there, too, when she was good (1st tour) http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif

iluvgeddy05
QUOTE (Tarkus407 @ Apr 23 2010, 02:13 AM) We'll be getting there early, so where's the best place to park? Depends on what other things are going on that day. Where I originally parked last year, I ended up moving because there was a wedding going on I think? Either that or there was a car show going on too. Makes it hard for a meetup.. The lots off Rte. 50 are the most popular to park at but they're also the busiest. And tailgating there is absolutely a no-no..
yyztmmb
If you're in the main lots off Rt. 50 getting out of there can be a drag. Seems like you sit forever waiting. Lots of Park Rangers laying in wait to pounce on hapless tailgaters, too. I'm going South after the show, so I may try to park on the West side of 50, meaning I'll be making rights to get out. Probably won't matter much. I've never parked IN the park. Check what time they allow parking, too. They may not open the lots too early. The gates open like an hour before the show. I'm always amazed at how many people they get in so quickly.

GeddyRulz
QUOTE (daveyt @ May 1 2010, 10:05 PM) going once..... Davey - Sorry I haven't checked back until now to see if there'd been any offers for rides. You're very kind to offer, but... the non-driving co-worker in question has found her ride. (Plus her husband has finally gotten his own driver's license. Now if only she would! This lazy young couple!) Again, thanks for the offer.

ouchithurts
QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Apr 13 2010, 07:38 PM) QUOTE (jonfiredaman02 @ Apr 13 2010, 06:25 PM) Is there any way to get here on public transportation? As a New York City guy I can't drive, I refuse to give my money to Jones beach and I'll have to be back at college by the time of the PNC show. So that leaves SPAC or Camden. I know I can get to the Camden show on the train but I've heard such great things about this venue and I'd love to go You can take the train to Albany/Renselear. From there? You could take the northway express bus (CDTA = capital district trans. authority). As for getting home, not sure..? I mention the bus b/c it's a Friday. A cab ride from Albany/Rens. to Saratoga would take 30-40 minutes so it could be pricey, but that depends on what you prefer. The venue is great which is why I am traveling hours to go "home" again and see them! (well, "home" for me) Doesn't Amtrak stop at Saratoga?
