OK, this was a prototype, but several were made and farmed out to folks who drove them... if only...

I love those cars of the sixties. They made the headlights look like jet engine intakes.

It looks like something from Dodge/Chrysler.

Try this one out. I wish they had sold these here in the USA.

Damn...that's a tough one. It looks like a cross between a Jag E type and a Saab Sonnett.

I'll give ya a hint. It's Japanese.

Toyota 2000GT. In that pictuer, it looks like a left hand drive.

I know, I know. I found this on a car blog:

The original and perhaps still most ambitious Japanese sports grand tourer, the Toyota 2000GT presaged the Datsun 240Z and Mazda RX-7 as revolutionary all-world Japanese sports cars and, had Toyota done more with the car, likely would have been as legendary and successful as the other two.

Instead, the 2000GT is an incredibly rare, extremely collectible car--a lovely and refined precursor to the following decades of more utilitarian Japanese technological innovation, a sort of Asian Jaguar E-Type. Unlike most cars mentioned in the same sentence as the E-Type, the 2000GT's hardware--a powerful DOHC straight six engine, disc brakes, and a top speed rumored to be in the 135-mph range--made it a worthy analogue.

So I was too slow, but I have a pretty good idea what this one is. That car looks like an old Volvo.

Here's one that any James Bond fan will easily get. The bond films usually have some pretty obvious product placement. This film was full of cars from one car company. This stunt was done by a traveling stunt show that was hired to do it for the Bond film.

Extra credit if someone can name the car that Bond was chasing in this scene. (Only for those who have seen the movie.)

Anyone? I hesitate to post the other car for fear of making this too easy, but I think I will.

Oh man that was either Live and Let Die or Moonraker. Doesn't that car ends up smashing into a boat. It's been years since I've seen the movie but I remember the sheriff saying something like "that's one of them new car boats"

AMC Hornet?

AMC Hornet?

You got the car right. applaudit.gif

The move was "The Man with the Golden Gun" and Bond was chasing Scaramanga played by Christopher Lee. It was the sequel to Live and Let Die and that cop you're talking about was in the car with Bond. The bridge was out and so Bond jumped it, spinning the car upside down in the process and landing on the crooked ramp. It was a great stunt! Anyway, AMC provided the cars for the movie and Scaramanga's car was a gold AMC El Matador. He ended up turning it into an airplane to escape Bond at the end of the chase.

In "Live and Let Die", Bond is being chased by a Jamaican drug cartel in speed boats in a Louisiana bayou. One of them jumps his boat into the sheriff's car. Both movies have awesome chases in them.

Well done!

Ugh... The Cadillac Cimmaron. Advertised back then as "It's by Cadillac", rather than "It's a Cadillac"... they were embarassed to have it in the lineup.

Another weirdo from the tailfin age...

Right you are.

And you posted a picture of a 1959 Chevy. My Grandfather used to have a 1959 Biscayne.
