My favorite is 'Will the real martian Please Stand up?'

"You've heard of finding the proverbial needle in a haystack? Well, your job is even harder, You've got to find a Martian in a diner" Ha!

How about "Over and Out"---the one where a man crashes on a planet in a spaceship and in in a forest, which is beautiful. He cannot fix his spaceship and transmits communications to that effect. He starts to uncover his surroundings looking for things to help him survive. He realizes it will be a lonely, lonely future. Then he hears something. As I recall he finds a woman in the forest. She is also stranded there alone. They do not speak the same language. But then they tell each other their names and he says "Adam" and she says "Eve"....

And hurray for reviving a long dead thread ohmy.gif

Wow! That's a real coincidence that you revived this thread today. I just watched a couple of episodes last night, and I only just ordered the third season boxset about ten minutes ago. creepy, huh? scared.gif

"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone."

you got em all already....

Was it George C Scott as the retiree that went to Vegas because wifey won a radio contest got a single chip, put it in the slot machine and was obsessed with it when it "stole" his money...the thing even came to visit them in their room

and the ep where there was a colony on a planet and I think it was James Whitmore who'd ran the show on this godforsaken planet, a rescue ship came for them after many years, and he was the only one left behind?

"A Nice Place To Visit"

3rd-rate criminal Rocky Valentine is killed during a robbery and wakes up in the Afterlife. His guide, Pip, takes him to a wonderful hotel (Heaven?) where all his dreams come true. He gets whatever he wants, whenever he wants....over and over again....all day long.....without end.

The subtle evilness of the episode is brilliant..... new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

That one rocked!

What about the one where this women kept talking to this little girl and it ended up being *spoiler* her younger self?

Or that women who was chased down by the mannequins and it turns out *spolier* she was one too and she was just lost?

anyone seen the episodes that are on tape instead of film?

Yeah, and I think they're pretty good. But then, as a fan of old Doctor Who, I'm used to the look of tape.

There are 6 in total, all from the 2nd season.

The Lateness of the Hour

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/00/The_Lateness_of_the_Hour.jpg

An atmospheric episode, and a good one, even though the "twist" is pretty obvious.

Night of the Meek

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/50/Night_of_the_Meek.jpg

A Christmas episode, and a very heartwarming one...I think I'll watch it tonight.

The Whole Truth

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c5/The_Whole_Truth.jpg

One of the "comedy" episodes, the story of a used-car salesman who can't lie.

Twenty Two

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/e/e7/TwentyTwoMorgue.jpg

An episode about a recurring nightmare. Nice and creepy.

Static

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7b/Static_%28The_Twilight_Zone%29.jpg

A good central performance in this story about a paranormal radio.

Long Distance Call

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/25/Long_Distance_Call.jpg

Probably my favourite of the six.

How about the one where, in a futuristic society, the girl's had plastic surgery on top of plastic surgery, and when they unwrap her for the last time...she is like Miss America

for us, but for the pig faced people that want to alter her face to look moer attractive, beautiful desried...she'd had to have the pig face...eye of the beholder?

and another one..National Guard unit on maneuvers in the desert a tank unit, splits off and somehow goes back in time to the battle of Little Big Horn....Custer's Last Stand? Always loved Serling's et.al. take on time travel!

I love that plastic surgery one.

But my favorite has to be "A Kind of a Stopwatch"

Below is the synopsis with spoiler (from Wikipedia)

Patrick Thomas McNulty is an obnoxious, talkative and unpopular know-it-all. At the local bar after being fired, an odd man named Potts gives him a stopwatch, "an old family heirloom". Thinking it an odd gift, McNulty soon realizes that stopping the watch stops time itself. Excited with his new toy, he tries to win back his job. Unsuccessful, he soon thinks of another use: robbing banks. But he drops the watch and it breaks, leaving everyone and everything around him forever frozen in time. With no one to talk to or interact with, we last see him in a panic: "Somebody move! TALK!! Say something!!! HELP!!!!"

I caught "Pip" just as Diane was going to work...and got the heavy sigh of can't we watch something a lil lighter before I go to work? You got the rest of the day to be in the zone lol

So I switched to VH1 SNL retrospective of Dana Carvey

She's at work now....(insert eerie twilight zone theme music here)

My favorite "A Kind of Stopwatch" is on SyFy at 1PM Eastern! And just to remind everyone, the Twilight Zone Marathon is on today on SyFy.

seems as if the further along we go in the marathon the better the episodes

The New Years TZ marathon is still going. I looked at the episodes ahead, and it appears the really good stuff comes on at 10 PM tonight (Saturday) and runs until after midnight.

It's funny how they jump around in sequence and give you a lot of bad episodes in a row before giving you a gem (or gems).

9:30 - 10:00. "Time Enough at Last" just ended. Poor Burgess Meredith as the man who just wants more free time to read, finally gets it after an apocalypse, and then his glasses break.... so for the rest of his life he cannot read.

10:00. "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet," with Bill Shatner as the guy recovering from a nervous breakdown who sees a creature on the wing of the airplane, sabotaging it, but can't convince anybody he's not just imagining things.

10:30. "Living Doll." I think this is the episode where "Talky Tina" keeps speaking to Telly Savalas, scaring the beejesus out of him.

11:00. "A Stop at Willoughby." One of Serling's many personal stories, about an overworked businessman whose train stops in an idyllic, restful fantasy town. But if he disenbarks, can he go back to the real world?

11:30. "The Obsolete Man." Burgess Meredith again, this time as a condemned man planning his own execution.

12:00. "The After Hours." A woman visits a department store's non-existent 18th floor after closing.

1:30. "Mirror Image." Vera Miles is a woman who sees her double in a bus terminal... but does anyone else see her?

4:30. "Nothing in the Dark." A reclusive old woman who fears the reaper opens her door to Robert Redford, a wounded soldier who may be a gentle angel of death.
