No offense, but after my team's pathetic bowl showing, I really don't care at this point.

For kicks, I'll say Texas in what is sure to be a made for TV low scoring defensive battle.

Are you talking about your Detroit Lions in the "Toilet Bowl?" http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

Well, that would just about every week, so we'd have to have Toilet Bowl I, Toilet Bowl II, etc.

Bama. This would have been more interesting with Boise St. vs. bama.

Oh sure. The nation finds a Boise/Bama match up more attractive than a Texas/Bama match up. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/eyesre4.gif

For reasons stated above I also found such an assertion to be bogus.

But I don't enjoy doing this ==> http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/beathorse.gif

You don't think it would cool to see how Boise stacks up to the best from the SEC? I know I would. I'm tired of seeing the same teams every year.

I think it would be great if we had a playoff system. Sure, a Boise/Bama game would be a nice match up but it wouldn't, and never will, have the same hype as a Texas/Bama match up. This is as big as it gets. I think that Boise can give Texas and Bama all that they can handle but Boise is not quite as good of a team. Texas/Bama are much deeper and have a size and speed advantage. I think Boise would win 2 or 3 out of ten games against either Texas or Bama. The curiosity of Boise playing in the championship game doesn't suprcede a dream match up.

The bottom line is that Texas and Bama have more talent than Boise. It will always be that way too.

So am I, it's just that Texas shouldn't be penalized because Boise State didn't try to play a harder schedule.

TCU and Boise both need to find tougher conferences. Especially Boise.

Do you think the presence of Utah, BYU, TCU AND Boise State in the Mountain West be enough to secure an automatic BCS bid? Or would Fresno State have to be included in the deal as well?

That would be nice and I do think that Fresno should be added. The bottom half of that conference is a joke.

don't really care what the nation thinks. i see you are from texas and i wouldn't expect you to prefer to see boise st in the national championship over texas. good luck in the game.

Here's a little twist on tonight's game. The starting RB (Tre' Newton) for Texas and the starting QB (Greg McElroy) for Bama played on the same state high school championship football team together. Carroll High School is less than a mile form where I'm sitting right now.

Hook 'em Horns.
