Now I'm really scared. RC has Texas winning big http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/tongue.gif

It will be a close game in the trenches but Texas will win because of one of the following: td from an interception, td from a punt or kick return, td from a blocked punt.

We'll get at least one non-offensive touchdown. We lead the nation in that category.

I'm getting very nervous. I'm watching the game tonight with a pretty large crowd. I think I might hit the local bar beforehand to calm my nerves.

I went on the local talk show today at lunch. EVERYONE here in SEC country was picking Bama to win this game. And then the local Alabama crazy man calls in, talking great about Bama and ish about Texas.

And so I HAD TO CALL. It was my civic duty. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/wink.gif

I mentioned some facts to put everything in perspective:

1) Alabama has NEVER beaten Texas. Texas leads 7-0-1.

2) Alabama gets a blue chip recruiting class every year. And so does Texas. I mentioned this because everyone seems to be under the impression that Alabama has superior talent, which is NOT true at all!

3) While everyone is talking about Alabama's defense, NOT A SOUL is talking about their offense. Or lack of it, shall I say. Texas has the #1 run defense in the country, and I expect to see stacking of the line early by the Longhorns to make Bama's QB beat him. I'm betting he won't, and there's your ballgame. I could not think of a single game this year that McElroy took on his shoulders and won. An Auburn called and said he pretty much did that in their game. OK fine, so that's ONE GAME.

4) I have to think that Texas feels disrepsected by being a 4-point dog and having virtually no one pick them to beat Alabama. Folks, this team is plenty beatable! Don't be fooled by the SECCG final, Florida was stumbling down the stretch. I think a good coaching staff takes this disrespect and turns it into INTENSE motivation.

5) A long layoff really hurt Alabama last year. They have said so.

That's about it. Now let's see if I forecast everything right! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

No, I think they were mainly stunned. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

You still had people picking Bama to win the game for various reasons, but Captain Crimson Tide, Avenger Of All That Is Texas never called back to challenge me.

One of the hosts had picked Texas to win, but even he was surprised when I uncorked my 24-7 prediction.

Oh, I forgot to mention this earlier: did you know that the team that has a player that wins the Heisman, if that team is playing for the title they tend to lose the game? This year's winner is Mark Ingram, so I expect that if the pattern holds, Texas will be keyed up to shut him down, thus ensuring victory for Texas.

Dang.....I think I'm actually pulling for Texas now. That never happens. http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif

Holy turnover batman!  http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif

Missed it. Flipped back to the caps game. Nikki scored so its 3-1 caps.

Bama fumbled kickoff return after Horns FG. Another FG, 6-0

Right on Caps! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

McCoy is out!! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/653.gif

BTW.. why is the game being played at the Rose Bowl? There was a game played there already. Other fans should have the opportunity to see this game played some where else!

So much for the number one rushing defense...

Texas' D had not had to go up against Ingrahm before . . .

If they had, they wouldn't be proclaimed the number one rushing defense.

I think you must have been drunk and/or high when you made that call.
