But seriously what does a designer vagina look like? A woman could go to great lengths for a "new look" and hubby might not even notice... Treeduck thinks to himself: Hopefully this post will not reveal the fact that I watch porn 24/7... Somehow I think I may have made a mistake here but I can't quite be sure what it could be... It's weird, I asked the receptionist if this is a very common proceedure and she said that it actually is. Women aparently come in with pics of models from like Playboy and Penthouse and say "This is what I want to look like" Honestly I know of some women who have gotten their breasts done and brought in pics of actresses or models and said "I wanna look like them" but this is just baffling me! Really? There's some concept of an "ideal" snatch out there amongst womankind? How did I miss this? Then again, I am not what anyone would ever consider fashion-forward. So I suppose this can now include what does, and what does not, constitute a fashionable vagina. I guess we can look forward to quotes such as this in the gossip rags (which I don't read either, big surprise): "Did you happen to see her vagina? OMG, those labia majora are SO 2008!!" Yeah come on ladies! Gotta keep up with the latest trends! It's okay to wear white after labour day though not sure why I said that

From what I can tell, a lot of girls think its weird if the minora are longer, and the have them reduced. Where they got that idea from I have no idea. They're running out of readily visible body parts to cut on, so they've moved to the less obvious. Frankly, I think anyone who would go through this is a half-bubble off plumb. The recovery part would have to be unbelievably, excruciatingly painful, for one.

HisCounterpart
I would never go under the knife to change anything in my appearance, I don't think. But I have to admit, I do see a difference between a good looking vagina and a not so good looking one. I am FAIRLY happy with mine, thank god, but I have seen some that made me think thank god I'm not like that. I suppose it wouldn't matter at all if you do it lights off under the blanket missionary style, but if you like it in the open light it nice when things... look nice, you know Still, all depends on what you prefer of course... I must say I really haven't seen very many vaginas. . .yeah, there are naked women in the locker room at the gym, but if I spent a lot of time staring at their south-of-the-equator region I would probably be asked to leave. "I was just comparing" probably wouldn't fly as an explanation. Add to which, I am just not particularly interested in looking at them. Nothing against those women who do, understand. OK, yeah, if I saw someone whose, er, lips hung down to her knees, or something like that, it might warrant more than just a cursory glance. . . Oh man, one of my co-workers had MAJOR surgery "down there" to correct a bunch of stuff that basically resulted from having had kids. (Ask me again to name some of my reasons for not reproducing???) Apparently stuff can stretch and start to sag into areas where it isn't supposed to go, causing all kinds of problems. And it isn't at all uncommon. It was a 4 hour surgery, involving lifting, cutting, moving, resecting, etc. She had something like 300 stitches, both externally AND internally. She's fine now, but was out of work for 2 weeks, heavily doped on painkillers for about 10 days. . . The idea of 300 internal stitches UP THERE gives me the heebie-jeebies. Big time. What did she have? A couple 15-pounders who grabbed hold and dragged things out with them? That is crazy. In your friends case (which is not usual) her surgery was medically necessary I'm sure. For the women who are having their v-jays tightened and lips reduced (can't believe I'm typing this) that is totally elective. And silly. Although, I have seen pics of women with really large ones and it is kind of unsettling. I have no idea if it feels weird or different to have sex, you know, gonna stop right here. Have to add, yah, I would indeed wonder about loss of sensitivity due to scar tissue or nerve damage. And loss of sensitivity would affect a woman's sex drive in much the same way as having your feet sawed off would affect your ability to dance an Irish jig. That is a good point Mara. this website talks about the possible problems that could be caused by a "botched" labiaplasty. http://vaginaverite.com/vagcosmeticsurg1.html The doctors do have the right to refuse surgery to patients who have never had any children and just want a tighter vagina to improve their ability to achieve orgasms. The doctor can't help in those cases, it's mostly to make it look prettier and to give the woman better self confidence. Which let's face it is the main reason why people turn to plastic surgery in the first place.

ouchithurts
Should not the title of the thread be "Designer Vulvas"? That is actually where the labia are. The vagina is nothing but the birth canal and the place to insert the penis during intercourse. While the vagina does host the somewhat elusive and somewhat mercurial g spot, the vagina in and of itself is not part of the genitalia.
