Appreciation Threads...

Isn't there a way that we could just appreciate everyone in 1 thread?

In order to find anything here you have to go back pages

because there are 9 appreciation threads on page 1.

I love the members here but can't we just keep all the love

in 1 thread?

A burst of sunshine around here is our own Sundog. th1245.gif

She can even make you smile when you are pissed at

the world. (Trust me on this one, she did it for me.)

I appreciate the friends that we have that took the

time to come and visit Necro while he is recovering.

I appreciate all the cards, thoughts, and phone calls from all

of you that have helped him smile a bit, through this ordeal.

I agree with you on that. She makes getting a buzzcut worthwhile (she knows what I mean).

Digital Man is also a very nice guy. I enjoyed meeting him at RushCon 6.

I find its better to have a person have their own thread.  All the attention is on them and looking at their thread can clear up a sad day.

We have 6,877 members here.

We can't possibly have a thread for each person. no.gif

This amount of appreciation threads is burying the

threads that we are looking for.

Haven't we discussed this before?

I know you love to add to that post count of yours but

really you need to think a bit. yes.gif

One thread should cover everyone. IMO and a few

others that feel the same way.

Actually I think the appreciation threads keep a lot of conversations in one area and leave the rest of the board clean of conversations that the rest of the board might not want to be subjected to.

If you remember how it used to be, a lot of people were commenting to posts that weren't met for them and a lot of people were getting offended. While we can't mend the generation gap we have here because Rush fans come in all ages biggrin.gif I think that by creating a mini forum area where we can go to post this stuff ie: the appreciation threads in GD we have actually fixed that problem.

That being said the people who have appreciation threads (myself included) are not saying we are better than anyone else on the board. You guys are all awesome! But it's just a place that we have to conduct certain conversations that a lot of people would either find childish or would say that our threads clutter up the board.

I think we should keep them.

Well put, Yaya. I agree that those who are often appreciated on the board should have 1 thread to be appreciated in. trink39.gif

Ya and it's not an issue with post counts, not for me anyway and not for most of us that have a thread either. I think that spamalot fad has died down.

Thanks BeOhBeBob! I like reading your posts and interview queries/responses as well! Love the new handle, BTW. trink39.gif

yeah maybe but wouldn't that KILL GAAC's post count? or his method of flooding the boards with SPAM??

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I think individual appreciation threads are a nice thing. If someone feels moved enough to start one for someone else, and there are enough folks who post appreciation and love to keep it on the 1st page, then good for that member and their appreciation thread. yes.gif

unsure.gif 6,877 members and you said there were 9 threads? Hogging the first page? What?

Seems there is an underlying issue here. unsure.gif

I see both sides. I can understand that people want to create appreciation threads for certain people but sometimes those threads do push other threads down the page and then aren't seen. Anyway... maybe we "pin" those threads. That way, they are contained in one spot and easy to find for those who read/post in them.

The only drawback I see here is a the attention garnered by anything pinned. Pinned means it has a special sort of status; at least that is the interpretation.

Some people WANT special status and would love to have their very own pinned thread. It could cause a sudden proliferation of appreciation posts.
