Maestro
QUOTE (Marathonist @ Oct 18 2008, 07:29 PM) Why am I nervous for Neil? Not afraid he's gonna choke are you??? Don't worry... ...Neil doesn't do trainwrecks! And besides: he's had a lot of practice lately.

But he's taken a lot of criticism after his last performance, so I guess I just want him to shut the critics up. (As if it really affects MY life at all!) Maestro
QUOTE (Maestro @ Oct 18 2008, 06:45 PM) Maybe sometime in the next 20 years or so, the 'BR' logos on the podiums will be replaced with an 'NP!' BTW: Was I the only one who caught the 'NP' logo on Neil's bass drum??? Talk about 'premonition!' Egad!! ...Sometimes I really do scare myself!!! III. Mara
That was SO awesome. I can actually tell a big difference in this performance and the one from 12 years ago. He had more of a feel for the big band style this time around. And he really seemed to be having fun. I saw some smiles there. I am still trying to process the sound of YYZ on a clarinet, though! Maestro
QUOTE (Arleen2112 @ Oct 18 2008, 08:41 PM) Great Show How did everyone like the orchestral version of YYZ? I think YYZ might translate to bigband fairly well; but this version could've used a bit more polish... Great to see Neil having so much fun, though. Anyone could see that he was really getting a kick out of doing this thing.
Mara
I enjoyed Chad's performance, but I don't think he even attempted to go for the traditional big band sound. Bozzio was fun to watch, but he was really unhappy with the way he played.

ReRushed
I had an extremely good time, despite the group of obnoxious drunk people sitting directly behind me. My favorite performers were: John Blackwell. I had no idea who this guy was. He blew me away. Tommy Igoe. Again, I wasn't familiar with him. Now I am. Neil Peart. It's not his genre, but he held his own. I loved the big band version of "YYZ".
