Territorial_Game
I did a search and didn't find a topic like this, but I'm kind of surprised nobody started this kind of thread. Anyway, I'm curious to know what songs really get to y'all emotionally? For instance, I was listening to "She's Everything" by Brad Paisley earlier today and I tell ya, it put a lump in my throat. So I figured I'd see what songs really get to y'all. For me, it's: She's Everything by Brad Paisley Oklahoma Breakdown by Stoney LaRue Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show Follow You Follow Me by Genesis Hearts Are Breaking Across Texas by Aaron Watson So what gets you? fledgehog
Are you asking what songs "get" to you because of personal connotations or memories that you associate when you hear the song, or what songs have such powerful emotion/meaning that they get you choked up when you hear them because they really speak to you? Excellent thread idea TG As much as I hate Genesis (at least post-PG), Follow You Follow Me is undoubtedly a GEM of a track For warm fuzzies guaranteed to melt me every time, I'll shoot for this quartet for starters inpo: Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac Year of the Cat - Al Stewart Mahogany - Diana Ross If You Leave Me Now - Chicago Dont ask me why, they just do, Ive stopped asking myself this perplexing question long ago. All I can put it down to is a nostalgic thing, hearing them so much as a kid during a certain time period when everything was superfine Edited October 8, 2008 by Steevo
Modest Man From Mandrake
Of all the recorded songs in the history of music that has hit me the most emotionally, oddly enough it's Away From the Sun by 3 Doors Down. The first 15 or so times I heard that song, I couldn't listen to it without getting a lump in my throat and tearing up.
