Drumnut
The artists are paying for the project - which could be as much as $21 million - themselves. apnews.myway.com At the cost of $21 million, I think it's a waste of time and money. furie
i say leave it alone. it's in central park, not hurting anyone. This is what central park is for, exhibits like this one.
Moonraker
Huh, is that a permanent thing? I always liked Central Park's feel when you walked through it of being a forest in the middle of a huge city. This is kinda distracting. Then again though I havent been to NY for over a year so my vote may not be as applicable. (NY is my favorite city outside SF btw, I came this close to moving there instead of here)

I liked what his wife had to say about it...to paraphrase: "No, it doesn't mean anything. It doesn't stand for anything. It's just beautiful." I'm a practical gal (most moms have to be) but there's something appealing about impracticality for the sake of beauty.
