The Owl
It's only a rumor but Robert Englund (famous for playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm St. series) says that this actor is going to be taking over his character. And all I can say is http://movies.ign.com/articles/898/898398p1.html No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one can take over that Character, there is no Freddy without Englund! Espically not this guy! Turn Me On Dead Man
That's really...weird. But Billy Bob is a good actor, so maybe he'll pull it off. Billy Bob should portrayal Neil Young, next.
MULTIPLIED REACTION
That role screams for Steve Buscemi. No makeup would be needed.

The Owl
Don't take me wrong Billy Bob Thorton is a good actor, but the Springwood Slasher? Just NO!
circumstantial tree
The last time Billy Bob was even decent looking was when he was in the John Ritter sitcom "Hearts Afire" in the early 90's. He was plump then, but now he's a poster child for male anorexia.
Turn Me On Dead Man
If Joel Schumacher stays away from this project, then it has a pretty strong chance. Edited August 13, 2008 by Turn Me On Dead Man

Stormtron
Billy Bob's a good choice. Englund doesn't wanna do it anyway. He said "I've already made that movie". What a cool dude.
workingcinderellaman
Thorton could pull it off. He can play a really good villain.

You have to give these remakes or "reboots" a chance, look at "Batman Begins" and "Casino Royale". And a lot of people defended Rob Zombie's Halloween "re-imagining". Pags
QUOTE (circumstantial tree @ Aug 13 2008, 03:35 PM) Regardless of who, remake = That's kinda what I was gonna say. Does it really matter? Has anyone seen a good Elm Street movie since the first one when we were teenagers in the 80's? Honestly.

It's the only other Elm Street (New Nightmare dosen't coun) that was Directed by Wes Craven. And that one had the best death of any. The Marionet Kid........Using his sinew as puppetstrings! He can certainly do scary.

The Owl
I'd say Horror is my faviorate type of Film. But the past 10 years have lacked origionallity completly! It's either remaking Classics Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday the 13th (Yes they're making that too), Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Halloween, The Hills have Eyes (at least that one was re-done by the same Director) House of Wax ...etc Americianizing Asian Horror Flicks The Mirror (re-make of Into the Mirror) The Ring The Grudge A Tale of Two Sisters (not out yet) ....etc or Constant Sequels Final Destination (2,3, and 4 about to come out) Saw 2-5 (I like this series to be honest) Hostel 2 .....etc There is hardly any "New" ideas in Horror right now. Horror is kind of in a rut.

Wes wrote the film though. I enjoed later films as well. "Twisted Comidies" is very appropriate. 5, and 6 I didn;t like all that much, but Englund was the Saving grace of even those films. New Nightmare was good as well I thought, but a compeltly diffrent movie. Freddy vs. Jason was poor, but watchable. And was once again saved by Englund.
