I bought some Vodka today for the first time. I just had a Vodka martini. Not bad. I still prefer Gin but the vodka wasn't too bad. Now I'm just drinking Vodka on the rocks. Edited by Midway Hawker

There you go, Mikey. It was as close as we got to having a Miller Light.

MCDuhamel ( Shaker Heights, Ohio )

overall: 3.55

appearance: 2.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | mouthfeel: 3 | drinkability: 3.5

Poured from a 750 ml corked bottle into a Westmalle chalice at fridge temperature.

A: Poured a tight head of only around one centimeter, although the head stayed with the beer all the way to the end. Good lacing. The beer is a murky light mahogany, and at cooler temperatures carbonation clings to the side of the glass.

S: Smell is predominately of candied fruit with a very mild hint of spiciness.

T: As with the nose, the dominant flavor is candied fruit, almost like a fruit bread, with some spiciness. There is a note of cherry and tropical fruit. The finish is alcoholic, even a bit hot.

M: Medium bodied, with carbonation providing some balance and structure.

D: The 750 ml bottle went down easy, but that was plenty.

Overall: I enjoyed this American interpretation of a quad and will not hesitate to buy it again. It is a bit coarse and unrefined when compared to some of its Belgian counterparts, but it is a very nice beer that I look forward to enjoying whenever I can. It is hard to find in Ohio; I got mine during a visit to Chicago. A better head and a little more complexity in the flavor profile would make this a world class beer.

Nice! Did they have the IPA too?

Yes, and one called "Summer Hummer." They also had Sierra Nevada "Summerfest" which I had never seen there.
