bardan
I'll be on my way to Atlanta in a couple hours! Anyone who wants to join me for a drink tomorrow night, I'll be at Malone's probably around 8 or 9.
The Owl
I do have to say one thing about Malone's. If we are meeting around 2-4. I wouldn't expect, with the size of our party, quick food. I work in a reasturant and the 3-5 hours are shift change hours. Day shift is in the process of leaving, and night is in the process of coming in. So from the hours of 3-5 the staff will be about half of that during peak hours. We all need to be curtious about the time it takes us to get our food, it WILL take longer than normal (for reasons mentioned above). We should also be curtious and tip the servers as well, because not only will the Kitchen be short staffed during those hours, but the Front of House as well. Ghost Girl, if you are in contact with Malone's. They might appreciate it more the number of people coming (I think were @ 40 something right now) so they can make schedule arrangments. GhostGirl
Okay, Atlanta peeps: The large room at Malone's is already booked, which the person last week conveniently didn't know. However, I spoke with a manager who has assured me that they will be expecting our large party (~40) for cocktails and appetizers starting at around 2:00-ish till nearly concert time, and they will block off part of the restaurant for us. I had to guarantee the space with my own credit card, so PLEASE, everyone be courteous and take care of your servers, etc. I have like NO MONEY after all this Rush hullabaloo, so I don't need Malone's charging me for anybody's stuff. Just tell them that you're there for the pre-Rush show get-together, and they should show you where to go. I'm bringing a piece of posterboard and some Sharpies so that everyone can sign in and we'll know who was there.

skyswing
We will try to get there at 4 p.m., but we'll be getting set up at our friends' house and turning our daughter over to them for the evening, so that might take longer than anticipated. I think I know how long it will take to get to Malone's but it is Atlanta traffic and we'll be smack in the middle of rush hour. (Pun partially intended.) Short version: We'll be at Malone's as soon as humanly possible. GG, thanks for going to all the work to get things set up. We look forward to meeting y'all! later! GhostGirl
Not sure about parking at Malone's. We're staying across the street at the Red Roof, so we plan to walk over. I can't wait to meet everyone...and I haven't completely abandoned the idea of nametags. I have no idea what some of you look like!

mazyyz
QUOTE (CRAIG2112 @ Jun 12 2007, 10:46 AM) in RUSH hour traffic, how long will it take to get to the arena? Are you coming from the N, S, E, or W? I'm coming from the North. I'm 1/2 hour away from the venue. I say it's going to take me approx. 45 minutes to an hour to get there. I would allow yourself at least an hour and a half. ATL traffic sucks and is bordering on retarded most of the times.

skyswing
QUOTE (mazyyz @ Jun 12 2007, 11:14 AM) ATL traffic sucks and is bordering on retarded most of the times. Despite all the construction of new arteries and the widening of existing ones, transportation officials in Atlanta have simply not been able to keep up with its growth. The metro area is estimated at 5 million! That's staggering when you realize that it has gotten that big within about the last 40 years. Oh yeah this is a meetup thread - OK, here's how we tie it back in - we can share our travel experiences when we get to Malone's! Safe travel, every one and ... ON!
