Meat Loaf

I hear about it all the time, and the thought of meat in a loaf sounds really wonderful.

I have to be honest, I don't even know what it is - we don't have it this side of the pond.

Can anyone give me a good recipe that I can try out on the kids?????

Thanks

Yes, as ladi and blonde said, you can really be diverse in making a meat loaf.

Usually, I use lean ground beef...

Onion soup mix

Ketchup

an egg

seasoned bread crumbs

mix it all up and put it in the oven

also, I like to put some ketchup on top

Also, I love having it the second day. Cold on bread...makes a great sandwich yes.gif

Mine is quick and easy....plus, everyone seems to like it smile.gif

heart.gif I Love Meatloaf heart.gif

It is an easy meal to make, with so many different ways to prepare it.

Its one of those Leftovers you don't mind eating the next day smile.gif

Here is my favorite meatloaf recipe:

Italian Meatloaf

1/2 c. spaghetti sauce

Salt and pepper

1/2 tsp. dried oregano

1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley

1 egg

1/2 c. dry bread crumbs

1 1/2 lb. ground beef

Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Beat the egg to mix. Stir in the parsley, oregano, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, 1/4 cup of the spaghetti sauce and the bread crumbs. Crumble in the meat and mix thoroughly. Pack the mixture into a 9x5" loaf pan. Spread the remaining 1/4 cup spaghetti sauce on top. Bake the meatloaf until browned, about 1 hour 15 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.

OMG, its the sauce on the top that is baked right in that is the BEST part yes.gif

Here's another one I tried recently at work and it was a big hit: Pepper jack meatloaf.

Basically you prepare the meat like you normally would with eggs, bread crumbs and whatever else you like to put in there. Then take half the meat and form it in the pan but with a slightly raised edge, sprinkle shredded pepper jack cheese liberally or just as much as you'd like to use, place the other half of the meat on top of this and seal the edges. Bake at 350 until done (about an hour for 2 to 3 lbs. of meat) but sprinkle more shredded cheese on top about 20 mins. before you take it out.

Mines....pretty simple. I don't you use a recipie.

1lb of ground beef
1 pkg of Stove top stuffing
1egg
ketchup
and then just bake....

probably for 30 min @ 350

oooo i never thought of usin stove top in it new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

try mixin in a package of taco seasonin into the meat

its yummay yes.gif and if u wanna go all out put some

sliced mozzarella in the middle of it wink.gif

i HATE touchin raw meat so i get my butcher to make me my

meatloafs laugh.gif

he even uses my recipes and sells em already made to others

the other one i got him to start sellin already made is

a reg onion meatloaf but stuffed with mashed taters

u have to make the mashed taters the night b4 so its cool nuff &

same temp as the raw meat when u stuff it.

I make the taco one more often tho

oh and cook it with salsa over it or

tomato sauce confused13.gif

either one is good yes.gif
