RollDeBonz
Wow, that was a hell of a series. Wagner said when he was hired, he's not going to save them all. He did show he can come back after getting shelled in one game and not let it bother him the next.

Here's a local writer's take on the trade: http://www.nysun.com/article/33381?page_no=2 I think this could be a win-win for both clubs, actually. El Duque needs to be healthy, though. I don't envision him returning to how he was with the Yankees. I do see him coming in and saving the day on occasion as he did with the White Sox last year. El Duque has to be in a situation where he's motivated. If they pitch him every five games, he's going to throw a few clunkers because he's not going to be sufficiently motivated. He'll perform better against St. Louis than he will against Florida. Strange but true. Julio's value really plummeted after losing the closer job to BJ Ryan in Baltimore. If I remember, he had some injury issues as well. He is back to throwing 97-98 mph, though. The D-Backs over the past few years have had a lot of trouble with their bullpen. Julio could help to shore up that long standing problem of theirs.

I agree that trading Benson for Julio was a mistake for the Mets. There's probably a clubhouse issue we don't know about. He never seemed to fit in. The real mistake was when they gave away Kazimir, though.
