  1. I caught this (Hot Fuzz) at the theater. It was very funny. I hadn't seen SotD and wasn't sure what to expect.
  2. QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Jul 9 2006, 09:41 PM) QUOTE (kazzman @ Jul 10 2006, 11:29 AM) It's still gonna suck. Why do you say that? Because Doom sucked in the last one? Because the FF part 1 as a whole sucked? Or because it'll be too hard to do the Surfer justice thus adding to its potential to suck?
  3. Came close to walking on American Dreamz and Fantastic Four.
  4. Also, Lois has a strange view or what "a long time" is. "You were gone for a long time. I moved on." If she was pregnant with Supes' kid, then she really didn't wait too long to move on if "Cyclops" thinks that he is his kid. The only other explanation would be if he knew, but why would they have the scene where he asks about the "I spent the night with superman" article? Besides that logistics problem, I liked the movie. I liked the homage they payed to the Christopher Reeve movies. Obviously Routh studied Reeve's speech patterns in the older movies. Reeve did Clark better, but I thought Routh was good.
  5. QUOTE (2112-Rob-2112 @ Jun 2 2006, 10:53 PM) if anyone sees it..stay after the credits..there is a scene that leads to a cliffhanger...i think there may be another xmen SPOILERS AHEAD . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ok, I went to see the movie again, even though I rank it as the weakest of the three. I liked it a little better this time around but still the weakest. I haven't heard anyone discuss this yet so I may be way off base. At the end after the credits you see someone in a hospital bed at Moira's facility and you hear Xavier's voice. I don't think they show Xavier's face though(I didn't stay for the last scene last night). I was thinking originally, how is that possible if his body was obliterated by Phoenix. Thinking back to earlier in the movie when Xavier was teaching a class, he showed a video clip of Moira talking about a mutant whose body was still alive even though he had no brain function. She talked of the possibilty of transfering the consciousness of another person into his body. Since they have messed with the actual stories and continuity of the comics anyway, is it possible they did just that with the professor and that is how he is alive? Any thoughts? Am I crazy? Has this been discussed and I just missed it?
  6. I heard that Topher was playing Venom.
  7. I have to agree about X-Men 3. It was ok, not bad but not great either. The movie introduced several characters that were either new to the movies or only seen in the background of the previous 2 movies. It seems as though they used a lot of mutants, flash and superpower action to compensate for an overall weak story and sometimes Lucas-esque dialog. At times, it seemed the movie was pieced together from several different story ideas and didn't work cohesively. The effects were pretty good. They did well keeping a lot of the same props to keep it consistent with the other 2 movies. I went in with relatively low expectations considering the various director and script changes the movie went through. I left feeling like I might want to watch it again, but not like I did the previous 2 movies. As was stated, wait through the credits. I'd say 3/5
  8. In the comics, Callisto was the leader of a group of mutants that lived in the sewers and tunnels below NYC. Most of them were physically mutated and were not accepted by society so they went underground. They were aptly named the Morlocks. I'm not sure what her role in the new movie will be though. Juggernaut is the step-brother of Charles Xavier (Professor X). His name is Cain Marko and he has an extreme hatred towards his step-brother. He comes across some mystical gem that gave him a suit of armor that makes him extremely strong and a virtually unstoppable "juggernaut". Angel was born into extreme wealth and was a "playboy" He developed feathered wings and his bone structure changed to that similar to a bird allowing him to fly and be extremely stealthy. He is generally a self absorbed person. At one point his wings are badly damaged and in a fit of rage and self pity, he joins Apocalypse (big bad guy believed to be the first mutant). Apocalypse turns his skin blue and transforms his feather wings into metal wings that can be used as weapons and renames him Death, one of Apocalypse's Four Horsemen. Shadowcat is a young mutant that can become intangible. She can pass through solid objects and vice versa. I believe she can also disrupt electronics when she touches them in her "phased" form. She has been romatically linked with Colossus, even though he was quite a bit older than her. She has also spent a lot of time as Wolverine's side kick. Beast born with large hands and feet and was quite strong and dextrous with the exception of that he looked normal, originally. He is a genius scientist and has mutated worse several times due to his own experiments. In the first or second movie he is in a short news clip as Dr. Hank McCoy. In the new movie he is played by Kelsey Grammer in his mutated, furry, blue form. In case people aren't aware of it yet, I am an adult dork.
