Axis is a mid-late 70s hard rock power trio that favors Page and Schenker over Van Halen in the guitar department. Energetic, decently catchy, probably could've transitioned over to AOR with a good synth player by their side; their singer had a pretty great voice. I'm gonna take their pretty sick record here over one of Dylan's more formative works (though that line "I'm a poet, and I know it, I hope I don't blow it" makes me laugh). But Dylan of course is the greater artist overall.

Vinny > Carmine Both are Legends.

Great writer. SHITE SINGER. One of the worst vocalists on the planet even though I know he is a Legend.

 

I saw Bob open for Aerosmith at the Concord Pavilion.

I couldn't believe it.

Neither could 10000 other people in the audience.

He was a joke.

Pathetic.

Horrific.

 

Glad I can say I saw him, but really? What a disaster double bill.

 

I do like "Blonde On Blonde" thought.

"The other thing was that Randy [Rhoads] had the rough idea for the song 'Diary of a Madman' and I came up with title. I wrote all of the lyrics as well on the album. Ozzy would come and go from rehearsals. One day he came in and we played him 'Diary of a Madman' and because it had funny timing he couldn't get his head around. He said, 'Who the f--k do you think I am? Frank Zappa?' We said, 'You sing in this part but you don't sing here. This timing goes like this etc.' He started to like it when he got his head around but at first he was like, 'This is not for me'."
