I haven't heard a single Triumph track without Rik Emett. For me, he and his guitar playing WAS the band. What do they sound like without him? I did think even the last couple albums they did with Rik weren't that great.

So Rush Family, I know there have been a few threads on here about Triumph, I mean Rush Jr. but I love this band!!

Do you?

When "2112" came out Triumph released their smoking debut.

When "A Farewell To Kings" came out Triumph released "Rock & Roll Machine" which was no sophomore slump baby.

Rush released "Permanent Waves." Triumph put out "Progressions Of Power." Epic.

Anyway, which album by Triumph is your favorite.

I think this band kicks fuckking ass.

Rik Emmett

Mike Levine

Gil Moore

ROCK!!!

True or false Pat Mr. Knowital. Anyone can answer this too!!

Steve Morse played on a Triumph record. If he did, name the album.

Surveillance

Winner winner! Tofu Chicken Plant Based Meat Dinner!! Can't find fresh meat right now! Well at least here.

I knew you would know. Damn it. lol

Hard to stump the METAL MASTER!!!

I got that album from a place called YANKS in 1987, an American imports shop. I've still got the vinyl somewhere.

That is incredible Pat. I wish I could build a Rock And Roll Record Store Time Machine.

It's so funny that we are from the same cloth yet live on different continents.

I mean that's why I loved going to Tower Records. Even Rasputin's and Record Exchange and Record Factory.

They would constantly bring in UK and Japanese cassettes and lps. Then the Japanese cd thing hit over here and I was addicted like an Oakland street hooker on crack cocaine.

It's why I still keep Japan in business.

They still press cds with the finest of art quality and bonus tracks.

I am going to fly to Japan one year and meet JB too.

It's all in my head. I just need the pieces to fall into place man.

Virgin Megastore in San Francisco had a ton of imports too. I can't leave out all the German cd pressings too.

I will go down with the ship Pat.

It's my passion and my true love, just like playing the drums.

Wendy was wonderful and it was a great run of marriage and raising a family, but my girls are grown now and they are awesome.

No women come and go like a bad headache.

I will never give up on the pursuit to love again but in the meantime I'm having fun mate. Fuckk it. Life is short.

Now is not the time to date someone new.

But I'm going to see my crazy wild and fun Brazilian girl when all of this calms down.

I can't help it Pat.

She is so hot and wild. Has more passion than a passion fruit. lol

"I Can't Explain."

Love,

The Who

Yeah I used to go to loads of different record shops, cool local town record stores, and the ones in the City, and even uncool places that sold records like Woolworths, WHSmith and Asda. I'd try anywhere! In fact I can reveal I first bought British Steel at Woolworths in 1980! I got that and Whitesnake's Live in the Heart of the City! And from Asda I got Sabbath's Born Again in 1983 and Queen's The Game in 1980! And I first got Hemispheres from WHSmith for a really good price, that was 1980 too! Even uncool places sometimes have really cool shit!

I got Manowar's Battle Hymns, Bowie's Station to Station & Whitesnake's "Live...." all from Woolworths!

Edit: Oh and Heavy Pettin - Lettin' Loose!!

"MANOWAR! BORN TO BE FOREVERMORE!!!"

Love all of those records brother.

Pat! You are right!! "Surveillance" is EXCELLENT.

Yeah I don't understand people criticising that album it's got great songs all through and it sounds like classic Triumph. And you have the bonus of Steve Morse on there too.

Thunder 7 -holds a special place in my heart. great concert.

Gil Moore still runs Metalworks Studio in Mississauga On. Just down the street from where I live.

Ive met Rik and Gil on a few occasions in the mid 80s doing local stuff.

One time a bunch of us threw a football around with Gil on a saturday afternoon at Credit Woodlands Park .

OK ducky, dirty earl & grey, name your top 10 Y&T songs and rank the albums too!

I've not watched that video yet, I'll have to do my rankings as I watch.

Here is Earl's list:

1. Dirty Earl

2. Keep on Drummin'

3. Take it to the (Mastercard) limit (dedicated to Wendy)

4. I Believe in Brew

5. Alcohol (no change necessary)

6. The Pug goes crazy (dedicated to Earl IV)

7. Midnight in Rasputin's

8. Hungry for Cock Rock!!

9. Don't wanna lose (my hair)

and finally....

10. No Regrets (Earl's motto for life!)

Thunder Seven just gives me such a special feeling every time I listen to it.

I mean, as a Triumph expert, I know what I'm saying when I say Follow Your Heart is top 3 Gil Moore songs. Allied Forces has Hot Time (In The City Tonight) and Air Raid.. whatever the hell that is. 2 Songs that I would happily skip. Thunder Seven's worst is Stranger In A Strange Land, which is still a banger.

Also Morse was on Surveillance, and I believe he was on Headed For Nowhere (unless my brain is completely pranking me)

The only album without Rik was Edge Of Excess (1992). It's definitely not the same. You can just tell the guitar work is slightly off. Half the album isn't worth listening to. If you had to check out at least 2, i'd say the Title Track first, then Child Of The City

Because I understand why someone would like it enough to put it in the top 5. Personally it would go at #7 for me, but that's because the other 6 albums before it are just so good
