So Rush Family, I know there have been a few threads on here about Triumph, I mean Rush Jr. but I love this band!!

Do you?

When "2112" came out Triumph released their smoking debut.

When "A Farewell To Kings" came out Triumph released "Rock & Roll Machine" which was no sophomore slump baby.

Rush released "Permanent Waves." Triumph put out "Progressions Of Power." Epic.

Anyway, which album by Triumph is your favorite.

I think this band kicks fuckking ass.

Rik Emmett

Mike Levine

Gil Moore

ROCK!!!

True or false Pat Mr. Knowital. Anyone can answer this too!!

Steve Morse played on a Triumph record. If he did, name the album.

I think Surveillance is highly underrated actually. I remember buying it when it came out in 1987 and being blown away. By then I'd kind of drifted away from Triumph, it was 6 years since Allied Forces at that point and 3 years since their last album. It wasn't that I'd gone off them I'd just got into so many other bands in the interim that I hadn't had time for them so much. Anyway when I got Surveillance I was impressed and with Steve Morse on a couple of tracks that was just a bonus. I liked it right away and there's not a weak track in sight right through the record, it's definitely top 5 Triumph for me.

You can't go wrong with that one it's really good all the way through. Way better Sport of Kings which I just forgot about! In fact I forgot about it at the time too, I don't think I got that one until about 1988.

I got that album from a place called YANKS in 1987, an American imports shop. I've still got the vinyl somewhere.

Allied Forces all the way, every song is a classic!

I love that record!!!!! F YES!! LOL!

When I first got that album it was just a BASF cassette tape I'd made from someone's album. So I didn't actually have the album until later on in the year. I used this crappy radio cassette player to listen to it but it still sounded great!

That is incredible Pat. I wish I could build a Rock And Roll Record Store Time Machine.

It's so funny that we are from the same cloth yet live on different continents.

I mean that's why I loved going to Tower Records. Even Rasputin's and Record Exchange and Record Factory.

They would constantly bring in UK and Japanese cassettes and lps. Then the Japanese cd thing hit over here and I was addicted like an Oakland street hooker on crack cocaine.

It's why I still keep Japan in business.

They still press cds with the finest of art quality and bonus tracks.

I am going to fly to Japan one year and meet JB too.

It's all in my head. I just need the pieces to fall into place man.

Virgin Megastore in San Francisco had a ton of imports too. I can't leave out all the German cd pressings too.

I will go down with the ship Pat.

It's my passion and my true love, just like playing the drums.

Wendy was wonderful and it was a great run of marriage and raising a family, but my girls are grown now and they are awesome.

No women come and go like a bad headache.

I will never give up on the pursuit to love again but in the meantime I'm having fun mate. Fuckk it. Life is short.

Now is not the time to date someone new.

But I'm going to see my crazy wild and fun Brazilian girl when all of this calms down.

I can't help it Pat.

She is so hot and wild. Has more passion than a passion fruit. lol

"I Can't Explain."

Love,

The Who

Yeah I used to go to loads of different record shops, cool local town record stores, and the ones in the City, and even uncool places that sold records like Woolworths, WHSmith and Asda. I'd try anywhere! In fact I can reveal I first bought British Steel at Woolworths in 1980! I got that and Whitesnake's Live in the Heart of the City! And from Asda I got Sabbath's Born Again in 1983 and Queen's The Game in 1980! And I first got Hemispheres from WHSmith for a really good price, that was 1980 too! Even uncool places sometimes have really cool shit!

I love Triumph. I was lucky enough to be a teenager in the prime of Triumph and Rush. I saw Triumph at my high school. They had their full show including flash pots. The gym ceiling was scorched after they finished. Thinking back that could have been tragic! I know a guy who has Gil Moore's mirror ball drum set - very cool. Gil owns a studio in Toronto. The guys are still around. I keep thinking a reunion tour would be so cool. But Rik went classical and never looked back.
