RushFanForever
We're all aware that ONE of the reasons Neil Peart retired from RUSH is due to the expectations of how he plays his drums, which became physically challenging. I was viewing 'Tom Sawyer' from Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland below and on the back screen during Alex's guitar solo, Neil is on guitar, Alex is on bass, and Geddy is on drums. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJoTxywiRG0 I wonder if switching instruments might help Neil play something that isn't physically challenging? I'm being silly about this, but one can dream right? :) One of the things I liked about Eddie Trunk's VH1 Classic 'That Metal Show' is when he'd have his comedic sidekicks Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson on and they'd ask the guests questions that would crack me up. This question could've been one of them. Edited January 20, 2019 by RushFanForever

laughedatbytime
If that video showed us anything, it's that they,d be instantly proficient at their new instruments.
Geddyleegenes
I wonder if Neil can sing? Since Geddy is having trouble with his voice now, he could just play bass and keyboards. Then they could hire a new drummer and Neil could still be in the band, but singing instead. They could still be Rush. Yes! I figured it out! RUSH LIVES!!!
