JARG
Saw a really good the other day about the Olympic runner who was in a plane crash in ww2. Think it was called unbroken My husband and I loved the book. How amazing was it that Louis Zamperini, I think, went through all that and then went on to just live the rest of his life? The greatest generation indeed. We didn't see the movie because I thought it would be kind of intense for me. It's a great book and a good movie, but the movie isn't anywhere as intense as the book. Steevo
I love historical movies and I love them best when they're accurate. It's really cool when a movie can portray history without distorting it and make it fun to watch. I realize that there's much artistic license taken in many of the really great historical movies, but as long as the major events are true, and even if the main storyline is fictional, I think they're a great way to understand history. Here are a few of my favorites: Schindler's ListTora, Tora, ToraThe Great EscapeBridge over the River KwaiDr. ZhivagoHacksaw RidgeLawrence of ArabiaThe King's SpeechWe Were SoldiersEnemy at the GatesValkyrieSelmaCharlie Wilson's WarArgoApollo 13 Great list, I'd shoot for most of those. Boots
I always liked the movie Alexander, in spite of its length and the implausibility of Angelina Jolie portraying Colin Farrell's mother. The love scene in which Roxana pulls a knife on Alexander is really wild.
