  1. QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ Sep 10 2012, 08:49 AM) QUOTE (Unobtrusive Companion @ Sep 10 2012, 06:54 AM) Who's to say they won't play one set twice in two shows, rather than ABABABA, go ABBABAA or something. Time will tell... It's bad enough the don't get how important Limelight is to core fans, if they don't play TSOR in Chicago... better have a good exit strategy. I gots to hear TSOR in NY, or there will be some splaining to do!
  2. QUOTE (therm316 @ Sep 15 2012, 12:25 PM)Silly question, but did any of you that got your stuff back send a sharpie with it? I did it when I sent in my 2112 album because I wanted it signed in silver not black and I wasn't sure that they would have a silver sharpie...I got the album back and it was signed in silver so I was happy.
  3. I've been seeing Rush live since the GUP tour, and I cant imagine a show without TSOR. It's been my favorite song since I was 13. I love the set list for this tour, it will be great to hear some of the gems from the 80's again, but I will be disappointed if they don't play TSOR at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn :-(
  4. I'd go with this: Body Electric The Pass Seven Cities of Gold Manhattan Project The Spirit of Radio
  5. All I can say is if they dont play TSOR when I see them in NY at the Barclays center, I am going to be really pissed :-)
  6. I am only a quarter of the way through so far, and I agree that it has the feel of a children's book...but I am enjoying it. It's not a fully produced audio play with music and sound effects the way that some Audio Books are, but it has a lot of charm and knowing that it was Neil's concept, it works to have him reading and performing it. The story and it is unfolding definitely fills in all the gaps of the greater concept than the song lyrics could. I like what I have heard so far.
  7. I also had that poster on the wall in my bedroom in the early 80's, brings back some great memories to see it again!
  8. QUOTE But overall, I agree with you. Leave the Stringless songs stringless. While I tend to agree, I also have a lot of faith in the band, I cant imagine them doing anything that wouldn't be totally cool with the strings. I am actually looking forward to seeing and hearing what they come up with...if they want to add strings to some of their classics, I'll give it a chance. A lot of their synth sounds from the late 80's and 90's are basically orchestra hits or string sounds anyway (think Big Money, Mystic Rhythms, etc)
  9. Not having Aimee Mann on the road with them has never stopped them from playing Time Stands Still...my guess is that they would use a backing track for the orchestration, that being said...I wouldnt mind them having a few extra people on stage when the strings were needed, it wouldn't change anything for me.
  10. The missing part of me that grows around me like a cage...total poetry, it says so much with so few words. Loving this album!

    Purchased at Retail!

QUOTE (IEATZ28 @ Jun 9 2012, 12:16 PM)QUOTE (Barry @ Jun 8 2012, 10:28 PM) A local record store in my area began selling the CD yesterday, and I got my copy. I paid $16.99, but I supported a local shop and I got it 6 days early so I couldn't be happier! I've listened all the way through 3 so far, totally loving the album! Can you post some pics of the retail version? Purchased at Retail!

QUOTE (fordgt99 @ Jun 9 2012, 07:44 AM) Maybe it's just me but there's no way I'd pay more than $12 for a cd just to support a local store. Might be a reason why so few exist. Being able to get it a week early, I felt it was worth the extra cash...and I do like supporting local shops...it's a great place filled with used records and CD's as well as new stuff and imports, boots, etc. I dont buy all my music there, I also love a great deal...but I try and do my part to support the local guys, gotta help keep those kinda places in business.

  14. QUOTE (EmotionDetector @ May 23 2012, 03:28 PM)Tom Sawyer and The Spirit of Radio will be played (again). As they should be :-)
  15. I agree it was a bit much to play that many songs from S&A on the tour, but S&A didn't tell a story the way CA does...they may want the full story to be played out live...Can you picture them playing Hemispheres without playing Armageddon...or 2112 without playing Soliloquy?
  16. The are the same size and shape as the originals, on comparable (or better) materials. I have most of them and they are just like I remember my originals from back in the day (the 80's and 90's). I love them!
  17. QUOTE (Stan Getz @ Apr 24 2012, 04:55 AM)QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Apr 23 2012, 10:18 AM) Barry, since we have two of everything coming I can make you a very good deal on guitar picks since I dont collect much of anything these days. Hopefully all the swag comes before the concert. Stan, that would be awesome! Just let me know how you'd like to make it happen. Thank you!
  18. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Apr 23 2012, 09:16 PM) How about those fees! $125 becomes $150 real fast Pricks. The better seats for the Brooklyn show were $170 a piece, $192 with fees....ouch!
  19. QUOTE (Unattractive Truth @ Apr 23 2012, 07:34 PM) QUOTE (Barry @ Apr 23 2012, 05:26 PM) Yes, too bad indeed :-) Let me know if you are going for the VIP packages this year, really would love the picks! No, no VIP this time. Like others have said, I can't really deal with the whole not knowing your seats before you buy them. I've only used the VIP Nation option once, for Van Halen, and it's driving me nuts!! I saw both VH shows at Madison Square Garden on this tour, and they were AMAZING! You are so gonna love it. Enjoy, and best of luck with the show...hope your seats are super close!
  20. I am pretty disappointed right now. I was on, had a few issues but ended up getting section 107 for the Brooklyn NY show by 12:15 pm. I just checked now, and I could have had floor seats (half way back) or stadium seats on full section LOWER than the ones I got...for the same price. I am happy to have good seats, but I would have thought that the earlier you log in and buy, the better chance you have of getting closer seats
  21. I want to bring my 13 year old son to the Brooklyn NY show, I was going to go the VIP route, but at $350 per ticket (more like $400 with all the surcharges probably), $750 - $800 is just too much for 2 tickets, especially since I wont know if I am 1st row center or 15th row all the way over to the side. I will try my luck with the fan club pre-sale and see how close I can get. That being said, I collect Rush guitar picks, so if anyone getting the VIP package would like to recoup a few bucks from their VIP package, I'd pay $50 for the set of picks :-) I'd rather help out a friend here than go to eBay to get them like I did on the Time Machine tour.
  22. OK, NJ and CT...but no NY? They have to play the Garden or the Nassau Coliseum...or maybe a few nights at Radio City! EDIT. OK, jus saw the list...WOW, Barclays Center...interesting choice

    Roll The Bones

My 7 years old's favorite RUSH song is Roll the Bones...for what it's worth!
  24. Barry

    RUSH RADIO CITY??

They a few night there on the GUP warm up shows there in 83 if I remember correctly...Marillion opened for them (one of my other favorite bands...the Fish era anyway) I'd love to see them at RCMH again!
