I (I mean... a friend) definitely got a leaked copy of S&A quite a bit earlier than 4 days before release. From what I've heard a lot of the piracy groups have people on the "inside," i.e. working in CD pressing plants who pocket copies of the cds as they're being printed. So I would guess that nowadays they try to press the discs as close to the release date as possible to cut down on the amount of time the album is floating around online before it's actually out for sale.

I can't see them bringing ANY opening band unless they get so old that they can't play a 2 1/2 hour set anymore, and at that point I'd imagine they'd retire instead. But who knows?

This isn't "classic" Rush, but it is classic Rush, if that makes any sense. Can't wait for the uncompressed version & the rest of the album!

I have everything through Presto on vinyl, plus the Moving Pictures Live album from last year. If this comes out on vinyl that is the version I will buy, if not I will probably get that deluxe pack from the UK. I don't think I'll splurge on both...

I've got everything from s/t through Presto on vinyl + the Moving Pictures live LP that came out last year. All of them except for Hemispheres (which is the picture disc) and MP live (which was brand new) were like $3-4 a piece at shops in Philly. I got my near mint copy of Presto for $1 at a flea market! I got a copy of Caress of Steel for free! They all get played pretty regularly (except for Hemispheres, which is framed)

I'm sorry if it's not appropriate to talk about leaks here (and I absolutely am going to buy this album) but what the hell this is such a riduculous album in the best way possible. I never would have heard this coming from them in a million years. Also, anybody else get kind of a Rush vibe in Slither? Parts of it remind of The Analog Kid.

Download the torrent when it shows up a week before release, and then go to Best Buy on release day anyway

I hate this song because the lyrics AND music sound like something I would have written when I was 12.

"feminine sounding" is kind of a shitty way to criticize an album (Rush aren't good because they're men, they're good because they're talented musicians and good songwriters) Anyway, this used to be my absolute favorite album of theirs, but now it's somewhere in the middle for me. The lyrics to Second Natur & Lock & Key are kind of awkward and Tai Shan is... Tai Shan. The other 7 songs are top notch! (I like High Water!)

It was a fan-made remaster but I can't find the links anymore. I had a copy but unfortunately, my external hard drive with my mp3s on it bit the dust this past weekend.
