  1. I'm one of the few voices that has constantly stood up for S&A and I still love that album. With that being said, CA is definitely the best thing they've done in a very long time. The album as a whole is infinitely better than piece mealing the songs. I don't trap myself into comparing this album to Moving Pictures, PeW, Signals, etc. It's unfair to do that to a band that has spanned 40 years. Do you really think they are the same musically, lyrically, artistically as they were twenty-five or thirty years ago?
  2. Love all three. They all contain songs that are irreplaceable in my Rush collection. CA is easily one of my favorite Rush albums, as is S&A. I still love and adore all the older material but the newer stuff has been really good, imo.
  3. ...since Power Windows. There are certain songs that I love off of albums since, but I find Clockwork Angels to be a very strong album. One of their best!
  4. Absolutely. 100%. YES!!! As a true concept album, it almost doesn't make sense to play it any other way. I hope they ignore the old school haters and play the whole album!!!
  5. Lifeson is one of the most underrated guitar players, ever. To try and name a best solo is impossible. At least to me it is. The Garden is one of many good ones for it's own reasons.
  6. I love it. It's catchy and the chorus is one of their best, possibly, ever. Plus I can relate to the lyrics. A very moving song to me.
  7. This is the first album in a long time that I've liked 100% of. With that being said, BU2B is still my favorite tune off this album. Lyrically alone it won me over a long time ago. With the new opening to it and then the band bashes in full volume, it just sends me over the edge.
  8. The Wreckers, BU2B, Carnies, Headlong Flight.
  9. QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 23 2012, 06:14 PM) QUOTE (ThinkingBig @ May 23 2012, 04:41 PM) Some fans will never be happy no matter how much money and time RUSH puts into creating a unique rock show experience. As long as I'm paying $300 for me and my wife to attend, I'm not going to pretend that "you'll get what you get and like it" is the proper philosophy to adopt. (And that's just the tickets - there's travel costs, dinner out that night, and other expenses involved.) [edited to add - that's not to say I'm someone who's never happy. I have the time of my life at every show. But I reserve the right to criticize the band for things I disagree with.] at what point did someone hold a gun to your head to go? never? thought so.
  10. Earthshine. I heard it on the Vapor Trails tour but that was my first Rush show and that was 10 years ago. I missed R30, so I didn't get to see it then. That last verse is just gorgeous, the words put a lump in my throat.
  11. Yes, it is amazing. We had 7th row on the first leg of the Time Machine tour and my brother caught one of Alex's shirts, we got a goofy grin and a head shake during some bad air guitar, it's awesome! Unfortunately, I'm in the club box this time. Binoculars and ass boils.
  12. QUOTE (CrossedSignals @ May 19 2012, 02:54 PM) QUOTE (danielmclark @ May 19 2012, 03:30 PM) I can't stand the fake concert ending. The false spontaneity of the whole thing is silly and outdated. Seriously. An encore is only meaningful if it's unexpected and spontaneous. When was the last time ANY band did this? Don't give me some indie rock group that just played a show in Vegas last weekend either. I haven't heard or seen the spontaneous encore done since the late 70's, early 80's, and I know a hell of a lot of people who went to hundreds of rock concerts between all of them. Ozzy, Rush, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, etc and so on. I think the spontaneous encore died decades ago.
  13. This entire line of thinking is mind boggling. It is a rock concert, a live show. If I wanted to sit down, I would stay home, save myself $160, and wait for the dvd to come out. Then, I could simply sit on my couch and watch the show.

And if everyone in the section, who also paid $167 for a ticket, is sitting down, don't be surprised if the people whose view you are blocking start throwing shit at you. Metaphorically or otherwise. That's fine. Shit wipes off. Anyone who throws something my way might want to take that phrase into consideration.

Ya gotta let it go, bro Especially since his statement has no legs. Really? No legs... an ordinary, average fan was able to score front row tickets in an ordinary, average presale to a very popular show. Tell me again how scalpers have a lock on all the good seats. They don't. They have some of the seats. The rest of the seats go to the regular joes who show up in line. His story is extremely rare. You think it isn't? VIP ARE scalpers and they gobble most of the good seats. Can you get lucky? Sure you can, but that doesn't change the fact that their is a lot of stuff going on with the way tickets are distributed that isn't kosher. One person gets a front row seat and that debunks any theory that things are often not legit? I don't think so, One person on this forum. We do not encompass the entirety of Rush fandom And if you're including VIPNation in the "scalper" category, there's no arguing with you because it's such a misguided notion that there's probably nothing anyone can say that would change your mind. If you think VIPNation isn't a scalping point, you might want to do some better research. Any of these promotional ticket sellers: i,e; Ticketmaster, VIPNation, MusicToday, all scalp tickets to brokers in bulk for sale elsewhere. If you don't believe that, let me assure you that three weeks ago, I could've bought tickets from StubHub to the show at the Jiffy Lube Ampitheater before the presale!
  17. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ May 7 2012, 12:57 PM) QUOTE (Alchemical @ May 7 2012, 11:38 AM) http://i.imgur.com/3TKE0.png If is confident enough to play CA in its entirety, it must be a pretty bitchin' album. I just hope we hear one or two (Hopefully NONE but I know I'm in the minority) MP songs tops. Did your friend say anything about Signals being played prominently? they felt confident playing 9 tunes from s & a on that tour and that turned out to be a heaping pile. I still don't get the hate for S&A. One of my favorite Rush albums from top to bottom.
  18. I have to say yes, go for it! I know that sounds irresponsible but seeing Rush live is like nothing you've ever experienced. Last year we almost passed up tickets to Hershey because they were way in the back of the floor. We had seen them the last couple of tours and had three shows in a row inside the first 10 rows. We swallowed our spoiled pride and went anyway. It was the best show I've been to yet; view be damned. Trust me, go!
  19. I really can't see them playing all of CA on this tour. I mean, lets face it, they've only done that once, and it was Moving Pictures! That's setting the bar quite high for playing complete albums. Anyway, I'd love to see them open with 2112, as long as, they include the Grand Finale. Otherwise, I'm not interested. Other good openers could be Distant Early Warning, with mucho lasers, The Big Money, Far Cry, etc. I'd be happy with any of those. Actually, I'll be happy either way, it's f***ing RUSH!!! C'mon man!
  20. I love Rush but I'd have to vote for my dad. He knows every lyric, every note, every time change, riff, etc. Everytime I think I'm as familiar with their material as he is, he proves me wrong. My dads first Rush show was at the Forum in Harrisburg during the Fly By Night tour. Yeah, he's been a fanboy since then.
  21. Good luck to you! Honestly, I hope you score good seats to the show of your choice.
  22. Yeah, the presale bit, is, for lack of a better term, bullshit. I've been through this on every tour now since S&A and it's always been a nightmare. Every f***ing tour I move farther and farther back!!! S&A we were in the 10th row, Time Machine (leg 1) we were in 7th row, Time Maching (leg 2) we were in 37th row, this tour....Club box!!! Are you f***ing kidding me. I went from close floor seats to nosebleed floor seats to the stands?! What the f**k is going on!? What's worse is I can be on my laptop (2 of them plus a desktop) at 9:59a.m. and zero seconds and I still get ZERO results for 3 tickets on the floor. How the f**k is that even possible? I'll tell you how, the Citi Bank promo, the f***ing radio promos, the venue promos, the venue employees and their families, etc. and so forth. It's bullshit. My father raised me on Rush, he was going to see them back when they practically had to beg people to buy a ticket and now, in their 39th year, I can barely score us tickets where he doesn't need a f***ing telescope.
  23. Middletown Dreams, Jacobs Ladder, Prime Mover, Lock & Key, The Enemy Within.
  24. Absolutely!!! I think it would be amazing. Can you imagine seeing Marathon or Losing It with an orchestra? Epic!
  25. QUOTE (SchemingDemon @ Apr 29 2012, 06:43 PM) "Time's up ladies, grouped by flickering PORCHLIGHT!" There are so many lyrics I misunderstood for the longest time, and I speak perfect English oh...my...God.
