  1. http://recommandedmovies.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/dredd-3d-2012-wallpapershunt_com.jpg Solid plot. Early action scenes are a bit graphic for my tastes but overall very enjoyable. I loved his "I am the law" speech.
  2. Middletown dreams I keep hearing: "...and life's not unpleasant in your living neighbourhood" as opposed to: "...and life's not unpleasant in your little neighbourhood"
  3. Non Stop I couldn't make it past the first half of the movie. Yes, it has plot but the movie establishes itself to be rooted in a semi-realistic setting and then as it progresses forces you to essentially shut your brain off to avoid the gaping flaws and outright coincidences with the plot that just wouldn't work even within the established setting. It's not even a fun action movie. Also texting is the main device that advances the plot in an attempt to create suspense. It failed. Texting is a horrible thing to rely on to advance plot or create suspense/mystery. The only saving grace to this movie is Liam Neeson who plays the usual older badass, but I'm starting to get tired of only seeing him in this kind of role.
  4. Just started season 4 of Archer. This show is hilarious. Bonus points for Krieger being a Rush fanatic (I did not know this when I started the show). After everything that goes down in that show...how does ISIS not have ants?!
  5. I can't see the picture. :( What's the movie called?? I couldn't see it either. I treated it as a link and it shows a movie poster for Gravity.
  6. Here's to another great year of having you around. Happy anniversary!
  7. The caption game...dying?! NOOOOOOOOOO I've been busy but I'll check back more often if it means keeping this alive.
  8. http://wac.450f.edgecastcdn.net/80450F/comicsalliance.com/files/2014/03/X-Men-Days-of-Future-Past-Movie-Poster.png I love the new Magneto and Prof X. Hopefully they'll stick with this cast and just drop the ones from the original trilogy (except Hugh Jackman because he doesn't age). Excellent movie which gloriously flips the bird to X3.
  9. This is kinda how I feel about the X Men franchise as a whole. I miss real movies, not all these mega expensive popcorn flicks. I thought First Class was very good and X2 was quite enjoyable. I still haven't seen Days of Future Past. I think the movies that Marvel is making directly (so not X-Men, Spiderman, Fantastic Four and a few others -- basically non-avengers stuff) are great for the most part and IMO they've yet to produce an actual bad movie for the Avengers series (Captain America and Thor were mediocre but they've yet to produce a legitimately bad movie).
  10. He's not all bad, he helped hit a winner with Piller in DS9 and of course had a big hand with TNG. Just don't count the other series I suppose :D Who Berman? Berman was fantastic up until he decided to pitch Voyager. I think that the moment he got that approved he started going senile.
  11. The Wolverine. I can't believe they actually managed to make a worse movie than X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
  12. Well, wait eight more years and we should be due ANOTHER Spiderman! Woohoo! Sony really doesn't have an excuse for screwing up these movies. The Amazing Spiderman tried to borrow from the Ultimate Spiderman series. It ended up borrowing the worst parts of it and ignoring what made it interesting. All they have to do to make a long running series is pick a continuity, buy the comic books and then use each story arc as 1 movie. I think Ultimate Spiderman's story arcs are perfectly suited for movies in terms of pacing, structure and length. It's not my favourite spiderman series but they'd work much better than the crap they've been putting out. Anyway, that's off topic. I'd like to see Sylvester Stallone replace Arnold in this reboot. Have a grizzled war veteran out on one last mission, then predator kills everyone in the first 10 minutes. The End.
  13. Who knows. Maybe in the next 3 years we'll get an original series created that has a measurable amount of effort invested.
  14. I've never seen it to the extent described in this thread. A few of my buddies did it when they were first able to text but when I pointed out how much it looked like they wanted to be with the person they were texting as opposed to hanging out they realized it and stopped.
  15. I corrected some misinformation on an article or two. The reference was already there but the information on the wiki page was wrong.
  16. The good news is that Abrams won't be directing more than one star wars film. The bad news is that he'll probably be focussing on the third Star Trek film. They already have Roberto Orci as the producer. All they need is Rick Berman as the lead writer and they'll have the ultimate team of hacks making it.
  17. Probably wasn't intended to be funny, but these stories are awesome and made me chuckle.
  18. Congrats. Aside from being a decent capacity MP3 player with a great user interface and a phone I don't see much use in the things given that the data plans are criminal.
  19. The cat-shark is a predator. It preys on your heart by being the most adorable thing in your household.
  20. Steven Spielberg decided it was time to make a more kid-friendly jaws movie.

  22. Now we just need to send this bad boy over to Lilliput and we can film the entire Godzilla reboot in a day.
  23. Just curious. This a just a hypothetical BTW. If someone was just sampling or checking out just a teensy weensy little bit of porn would this spyware thing know?.... If it monitors the websites you visit, yes. It depends what it's monitoring. The most common is that it just looks at the websites you've looked at so that the person knows what interests you have. They probably won't know if you watch the exact same video every Tuesday night. Also: see x1yyz's comment
  24. They were malware alerts, and I got the alert when I received a PM from a member here. Then I got a few more the next couple of days whenever I would log in here. Not sure what to make of it all. Perhaps it was the same issue I had? Was this member's avatar and/or signature present on those pages?
