  1. Alex is definitely back. He was killing it in Houston.
  2. Just got back from Toyota Center. Me and a bud got the gold VIP and our seats were 10th row center. We were close enough to feel the bass drum thud in our chests. We lucked out and another friend of mine had gotten a catered suite and invited us. Free booze and grub and kickass parking. Definitely my personal best start for a Rush show. The arena was packed and the crowd was energetic. Houston definitely brought the A game as well did Rush. It was my ninth time and the best I've seen. Highlights were Jacob's Ladder, Cygnus X-1 and Xanadu. The first set was a great primer fir the main course. Alex aced his solos especially in Jacob's Ladder and all of Xanadu. Geddy was fantastic and the tone on the Rick was insane. Neil was excellent too of course and the chrome kit was awesome.
  3. Entre' Nous was performed on the Snakes and Arrows Tour - I definitely enjoyed getting to see that one live! :haz: I agree. One of my favorite Rush songs.
  4. I saw Maiden and Megadeth there on the floor and it is NOT covered. However, great sound system.
  5. Houston will sell out especially after the buzz this weekend with them playing Xanadu, Jacob's Ladder, Anthem, Cygnus X-1, etc..
  6. Since it's a tour based on history rather than supporting a new album I expect logos and imagery from the past. The Starman, Owl, Girl with Slit Skirt, Crown, Moving Crew, Rabbit, Dice, etc... They've already said they're planning some kind of journey through time. Wouldn't be surprised if they break out the kimonos.
  7. It's either the Hemispheres tour or Permanent Waves. THAT"S Rush at their peek in my humble opinion.
  8. LOL. Gracias. Collecting concert shirts has become kind of a hobby.
  9. So jealous of these my blue eyes have turned green. Really nice shirts man!! Pictures??

  11. I'm a huge Kiss and Aerosmith fan but Rush still exceeds them in the bang for the buck category.
  12. This was my first Rush show indoors and I had been looking forward to it for months. An old friend of mine who has been a Rush fan for years but never saw them live joined me from Austin. San Antonio is always a great rock draw and the Rush devotees and alot of younger folks packed the AT&T Center where the Spurs play. The beginning featurette was hilarious and they've definitely upped the production. When Alex started playing the intro lines to 'Spirt' the place erupted. The next songs like 'Time" and 'Presto' sounded great. In fact I thought the entire show sounded better than the previous ones I've attended and perhaps because it was indoors. The rest of the first set went well with no apparent glitches although I was a little disappointed by the crowd's response to 'Faithless' and 'Working Them Angels.' The place went nuts for 'Free Will' but was motionless during 'Stick it Out' and a few others. Personally I thought the first set flowed really well and I like it better than the last our other than not playing 'Entre Nous.' Second half was awesome. San Antonio got down to Moving Pictures and 'Camera Eye' didn't disappoint. I also particulary liked 'Red' and thought Alex nailed his solo in 'Limelight.' The boys in the band were really getting into it and I've never seen Neil smile as much. His solo was better than the last tour. It was creative, attention grabbing and technically impressive. Fave of the show was La Villa Strangiato and it's amazing they pull this off after 30 something years. Probably the best Rush show I've seen. There is no band that gives their fans that kind of entertainment so thoroughly. The ending featurette was a hoot as well. My bud who was seeing them for the first time was all grins and just said...."wow."
  13. I've got an original MP jersey and Hemispheres T both in good shape that I wear.
  14. Not sure if this thread title is appropriate as most comments have been around which bands play a diversified setlist. The way I personally interpret the thread to mean is which bands deliver a consistent and impressive concert. My votes would go for KISS, Rush, Aerosmith, Queens of the Stone Age, Mastodon, Iron Maiden, Heaven and Hell and Tool. I've seen hundreds of shows and these bands tend to bring it everytime.
  15. Got floor tickets to the Houston show and with service fees they run a little over $120 a piece. That's probably the most I've spent for these kind of seats but what the hell, it will be worth it.
