  1. Random Access Memories is pretty killer. Worth a listen (just skip the Pharrell tracks).
  2. So great. Dude could’ve made millions just doing these.
  3. I remember listening to him as a kid - my mom had him on the radio everyday. Back in the 90s he could be pretty hilarious. A shame he doubled down so much on the neocon craziness. I’ve grown to just dislike such divisive people. May he RIP anyway.
  4. I saw the newer version of Elektric Band at my college in 1993. Gary Novak on drums, and only Chick and Marienthal as original members. Maybe 20 people in a theater that could hold 1000. My school supposedly had a good music department too. Totally embarrassing. The band were just f***ing unbelievable. I will never get fusion-it’s so mysterious to me. But I love listening to it. Especially when it’s presented with just so much intensity.
  5. I find it strange that Greg Lake took over for Wetton for that Asia in Asia concert and barely anyone noticed. Their voices are pretty similar. They both sang in Crimson. They also looked quite alike in their later years. And died within months of each other.
  6. Artie Lange is a big rush fan. He included a comment about them in his move Beer League.
  7. You did the drum cover of Owner Of A Lonely Heart a while back right? I liked that one, but this one totally blows it away! Bravo! I love how you managed to keep time when the guitars started going out of sync. Like Tony said, that takes a lot of Discipline. As a saxophonist who plays in concert and jazz bands with directors, counting rests correctly even with someone waving their arms around on a stand in front of you is one of the hardest things in all of music, especially in a weird time signature, especially when other people are playing, and most especially when those other people aren't playing things that line up quite evenly. Just super impressive that you pulled that off multiple times in a row here without error. That last groove with the poly meter was really on point too. Thank you EP! Really cool of you to say.
  8. this is for real and is on their Spotify page. maybe they lost the license for original artwork, but...LMAO
  9. Haha! Thank you so much Tony. That means a lot.
  10. I think PeW was their breakout to radio album.
  11. Nitro is truly one of the most ridiculous ideas of a band ever. Their videos are just laugh out loud hilarious. Turbnegro - I was in a band that opened three shows with them. Most definitely one of the best live acts I’ve ever seen.
  12. I keep trying to reverse my sadness over NPs passing, and so many others this year. I’m trying to help others and somehow come to terms with the nagging depression I feel inside. It feels good to help others. When I see others so blatantly take life for granted, with little cate for others, I find myself getting very angry. I watch these sad people invade the Capitol building or burn down Portland, and I feel the increasing need to reach out and help others We are in survival mode. Or safe mode, while we repair the HD. NPs passing is helping me understand what the priorities actually are. Kindness, intelligence, family, learning, openness. NP perfectly lays it out in Witch Hunt and Territories. Tribalism will end us. Our heroes pass away, but they’re our HEROES right? They had qualities we want to possess. Admiration for someone like NP is meaningless if we don’t apply those admirable quantities to our own lives.
  13. I don't have a sub but I was able to read it. It's excellent. It's funny - I was able to read it at RS just by using a different browser.
  14. What a great person to be an admirer of. He was truly Great. Flawed as f**k, no question. But that makes a distinguished human.
  15. (“You can do a lot in a lifetime,” he wrote in the lyrics to “Marathon,” one of Rush’s most powerful songs, “if you don’t burn out too fast.”) That was one of his signatures as a drummer, too, cramming an improbable amount of rhythmic information into each bar of music; he made his living by pushing the limits of time. Beautiful.
